My excercise for the day

I think everyone had a fun day! Currently, Sister #1 is icing her butt. I think she crashed on a rock. I did get a picture of the crash, but it's on Sister #2's camera. I know, I should have been concerned but it was funny, and I knew you guys would want a picture of the crash. Right?

Sister #1's crash...it was a good one.

How to kill time in a snow storm

Ok, now pay attention because this post is full of valuable information. This is a step-by-step proocess on how to properly kill time when stuck inside your house. And yes, I do become a bit more dramatic when I'm isolated from everyone.

Step 1: Watch Lots of TV
I would recommend that you have expensive cable for this first step. However, I'm cheap so I was stuck watching the local news ALL day. Blogger World, I'm stressing ALL DAY, because that's all that was on during the day. See, the local news has the ability to high-jack the network, and just air themselves. It's true! All day yesterday I had no Ellen, no Martha Stewart, no lame soap operas, no Dr. Phil, and no Oprah. By the way, you think I'm dramatic...

Step 2: Clean House
Yesterday this was my pile of laundry. I'd like to tell you it's off my couch, but it's not. It's still there. But today I'm folding and putting away all of these clothes and towels. Actually, see that beach towel at the bottom of the pile, the blue one? I've already put it up. Go me! But the rest of my house is really clean...really clean!

Step 3: Cook Everything in your Pantry
The first picture is today's breakfast. It was tasty. Thank you Pioneer Woman for the Egg-in-a-Hole recipe (I think that's what it's called). It was pretty tasty. All the other pictures were things I cooked yesterday, and I didn't even take a picture of dinner. It was another Pioneer Woman recipe, and it was tasty too. I'm thinking this Pioneer Woman knows how to cook!
Please ignore the coupons. I plan to cut them today...I promise.
And for all that is holy, please ignore the dirty Pizza Stone. I swear it's been cleaned.
By the way, this soup is amazing. I had it for lunch and froze the rest.
Ok, sadly that's all I have. I spent most of the day cleaning my house. I figured if I was going to be stuck inside the house without electricity, I might as well make sure it's a clean house. However, I still have electricity...thank goodness! Today, I plan to do some heavy duty dustying, more cooking, and reading. I might even bust out one of my new movies.

Umm...is this thing on????

I woke up this morning expecting the end of the world. Instead, I woke up to a typical morning. When I left my house the news media was still predicting lots of ice/snow with no electricity. Also, all the schools have closed for today and tomorrow. Oh yes, they've closed the schools before any type of precipitation has fallen.

Right now I'm prepared for electricity or no electricity. I have water, lots of sandwich stuff, new books, coupons to be filed, house to clean, and movies to watch. I'm even dressed for a winter storm. This morning I'm wearing my new Mountain Hardwear Gear. It's suppose to keep you warm, even in negative temperatures. I'll let you know if that's true. As for now I must rush off... I need to hydrate and use my office's bathroom 100 times. But I will leave you with a picture of my cute boots. Thank you Portland!

You change your mind, like a girl changes clothes

This is the 7 day forecast for OKC.

As you can see, Thursday the world is going to end. You don't see that? Me neither. However, the weather people are promising the greatest winter storm since Christmas. They are predicting 3 inches of ice and a couple inches of snow. Not only will we receive all the ice/snow, but our electricity will go out as well. It should be a fun weekend.

Due to the hype about the storm, Okies are in survival mode. And sadly, I am one of those Okies. Today, at lunch I'm going to buy batteries. Currently, I own two flashlights and if I'm going to be without electricity I need back-up batteries. Also, I need to go to the library for books. I plan to read by candlelight, think Little House on the Prairie.

But just because Gary England is predicting the greatest winter storm since Christmas, doesn't mean it will really happen. As I've stated before, OKC's weathermen are only right about 50% of the time, unless there's a tornado and then they're right about 95% of the time. So not only am I making plans to be stuck inside the next few days, I'm also making plans to continue life as normal. But more than likely I will be stuck inside my house without electricity, reading a book by candlelight, and eating bologna sandwiches.

Happy Birthday Daryl

Blogger World, meet Daryl. Please ignore the girl in the background of this picture. A) It's not me, and B) she has nothing to do with this post.
Daryl and I have been friends for 10 years. Actually, Daryl's sister and I met in college, and we've been friends for 10 years. I guess Daryl was just a perk? Who knows. All I know, is this guy has been around for 10 years-eating my food, letting me set him up on dates, and making fun of me.

Friday, Daryl turned the big 3-0. Awesome, huh? To make sure his big day was special, his sister made a huge sign announcing: Edmond's Most Eligible Bachelor was turning 30 and everyone should text message him Happy Birthday...his number was posted on the sign. I think the sign alone is pretty funny, but what makes this hilarious is she placed the sign at one of the busiest intersections in town. She wanted everyone to see the sign, and everyone did see the sign.

Last night I had birthday boy over for dinner, and he told us of all the text messages he received. Not only did he receive birthday wishes from strangers, he also received date invitations. I'm for real, random girls texted him to go out this weekend. Of course, he declined all the invitations because....well I don't know why he declined them, but he did. Blogger World, I just want it noted that when I turn 30...I want a sign, and I will not decline any date offers! I will take full advantage of the free advertising!

Comments Needed

I'm thinking about running The Great Wall of China Half Marathon. I've gone through the pros/cons in my head a thousand times. But I'm still uneasy on making a decision. Blogger World, what are your thoughts? I mean, how cool would be to run a half marathon on The Great Wall of China? Pretty freakin' cool!

Facts about the event:
The race is in May.
I even have someone crazy enough to run with me.
I have plenty of vacation time.
I've set money aside for random crazy trips, like this one.
I will be in shape to accomplish the race, because of the half marathon in April. Of course, I know China and OKC are a bit different. I'll be prepared, don't worry.

Sooo thoughts.....

Keeping Portland Weird

Yesterday, Sister #1 and I returned home from our annual Portland trip. This is our 4th year to spend MLK weekend in Portland. I think MLK would approve of our weekend. As always, our trip was a blast. We met more great people, ate wonderful food, and knocked out our favorite stores. It was a fun time all around! You know, next year I might not return home. On this trip, I found out that Portland will be getting an H&M. My favorite store and favorite town are finally coming together for the perfect relationship! Oh be still my heart! Next year, not only will I be able to shop at the Columbia Employee Store, but I'll also be able to shop at H&M! This excites me to no end. I swear, I might not come home next year. While you are contemplating if I'll come home next year, enjoy these pictures from Portland....

Voo Doo Doughnuts. I had the one with Fruit Loops on top. It was good. No, it really was good. It was worth the hour long wait in the rain. Oh and look at my pretty hot chocolate. Isn't that swirly thing so pretty? It was almost too pretty to drink. I said almost. My Starbucks friends don't put swirly designs in my drinks.

To pass time in the Voo Doo line, I ran across the street to take this picture. I think I bring out the background. Sister #1 made me stand in front of the wall because she could see how goofy I looked. She was right, I look goofy. But to be fair, it was raining and my hair was wet.

My college friend Tabs and her soon-to-be husband took Sister #1 and I to McMenamins Edgefield for a wine tasting. It was good and cheap! If you are ever in Portland you must check out a McMenamins.
Our friend Kyle and some other friends took us to dinner at Portland City Grill. It has a great view of the city, and they have a cheap Happy Hour food menu. I was able to order a California roll for $3. Blogger World, don't get excited about Kyle...he's getting married in two months.
See the great view of the city? Ok, you can't really see the city behind us, but it's there. These are some of our old friends with some new friends. Two of the guys in this picture are fellas we met last year. This year, they hung out with us the whole weekend, and introduced us to more of their friends. This morning, I told The Cousin that I'm starting to have more friends in Portland than OKC.

Name the Puppy

Blogger World, it's time to play a little game I like to call...Name the Puppy. Yea, I just made that up right now. We've never played this game before.
Sister #1 has decided to add a puppy to her small family of 1. But she needs help naming the puppy. Her new puppy is the black one. Pretty cute, huh? So anyway, please leave your suggestions for naming this cute dog. By the way, it's a girl puppy.

Zumba

Friday I visited the library to check out books for my upcoming trip. While browsing the books I stumbled upon the library's DVD collection. As I was glancing at their educational/boring selection I noticed a whole set of workout DVDs. One that caught my eye was Zumba. Anyone out there ever done Zumba? Me neither. As you can imagine, I checked out the Zumba DVD so I could check out the workout.

Last night I tried Zumba. Ok, not really. Actually, I laid on my bed and watched the workout DVD. Is there any other way to do a workout DVD? Oh, you mean you are suppose to participate? Right. Well, earlier in the day I had swam a bunch of laps and ran a mile, so the thought of trying to translate what the Spanish speaking instructor was saying and following along with the workout wore me out. It was easier to just watch the DVD workout, while eating my cheese. Needless to say, Zumba did nothing for me. But by the look of the lady on the DVD cover, I might need to learn the Hottest Latin Dance Workout.

Brilliant Idea # 71

Blogger World, sometimes I have brilliant ideas. I mean, brilliant. For instance, two years ago I came up with Brilliant Idea # 63. This was a time in my life when I was tired of buying my friends wedding presents. I guess you could say I started to panic when I realized I may never get married, which shattered my dream of registering for wedding presents at Pottery Barn and William Sonoma. With Brilliant Idea # 63, I declared that on my 30th birthday I was registering for all the cool bedroom/kitchen things at Pottery Barn and William Sonoma! It really is a brilliant idea; a pretty selfish idea, but brilliant.

This weekend Brilliant Idea # 71 took place. Brilliant Idea # 71 is Sister #1 and I's Second Chance Party. Second Chance party is where our guest bring their crappy Christmas presents, and we play Dirty Santa with everyone's presents. See, I said it was a Brilliant Idea. It really should have a higher ranking on the Brilliant Idea Scale, but there's been so many Brilliant Ideas it had to settle for # 71. Sorry sidetracked! So this year, I received my best present yet. Blogger World, look at the present I walked away with this year:

Pretty cool, huh? It's a reindeer that poops out jelly beans. You better believe I had fun playing with this toy. By the end of the night, I was launching poop half way across the room. I'm thinking this toy will keep me entertained all year!

Devastating Blow

This is not how I like to start my Monday morning. I do not appreciate reading my favorite waste of time website, People.com, to discover my precious Michael Buble is engaged. I mean, look at her, she's not even pretty. Ok fine she's beautiful, which is fitting since he's beautiful. Blogger World, now who am I suppose to marry? There's no hope for me! I will remain single for life, just cast me aside. Oh, this world is so cruel.

Breaking News

My second favorite male Saved by the Bell alumni has a new gig. AC Slater will be hosting the 2010 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in NYC. AC is quoted saying, he is excited to host the dog show. Really? AC, are you really excited to host a dog show? I don't care if it's the biggest dog show ever. The dog show? What happen to my friends at Bayside?

On an island in the sun....

We’ll be playing and having fun.....

Blogger World, for today let's pretend we are on an island in the sun having fun! If that's not your cup of tea, which I have no idea why this wouldn't be your cup of tea, you can pretend you are battling the cold temperatures with skis attached to your feet.

Whatever works for you. Personally, I could go either way. This morning, while getting dressed, I felt like I was preparing to hit the slopes. Of course, our highs of 17 are nothing compared to what TC and Renee go through all winter. I get it, I'm a wimp!

Ramblings

Happy New Year Blogger World! I have missed you guys dearly! I thought the first entry of 2010 should be Ramblings. I know it's your favorite. Enjoy....

This weekend I watched Gone with the Wind. I have only seen the movie once and it was 15 years ago. Needless to say, I didn't remember much about the movie. After the four hour viewing of Gone with the Wind I came to one conclusion; it does not pay to be the sweet girl. It pays to be the selfish, shrewd and vain (Wikipedia's words not mine) girl. I mean, one of the main characters, Melly, is a good girl. She's the girl we all want to be- sweet, kind, pretty, caring, blah, blah. However, (spoiler alert) she dies! But Scarlett, who marries anyone with money, lives forever! How is this fair? If this movie would have been made today, Scarlett would have died and Melly would have lived forever with her beautiful husband Ashley! He really is beautiful.

I finally used my Pioneer Woman cookbook. I made Mac-n-Cheese. It was good and full of butter. Not really. I cut the amount of butter in half. I just couldn't put a full stick of butter in the dish. But I highly recommend this recipe, with all the butter or without. Next recipe I plan to try out? Chicken Spaghetti. It looks good too.

Do you guys have frequent flier miles? I do. I have my miles with Northwest/Delta. The only reason I choose this airlines is because I flew to Japan on NW. I raked up 13,000 miles with the trip. Since I was half way to a free plane ticket I've stuck with them through the years. But you know, frequent flier programs are like bad relationships. You want to get out, but you can't because you want the free flight! Therefore, you feel stuck. See, it's like a bad relationship.

Yesterday, the OKC news announced that we will not be receiving a professional hockey team. Bummer. I was looking forward to having a professional hockey team. However, I'm not giving up. OKC is still begging for a team, so hopefully some team will get moved to OKC. Maybe we'll get a hockey team full of single guys. Hey, if Carrie Underwood can marry a hockey player than so can I!

Speaking of sports, the 1st and 2nd round of the Men's NCAA tournament will be back in OKC. I love March Madness, LOVE IT! My dad usually has tickets to the games, and generously gives me tickets to at least one set of game. It's my birthday present. However, I usually have to start begging for the tickets months in advance. This week begins the begging process. I am now taking applications for friends/seat partners. I'm thinking it will take a few months to find the perfect friend/seat partner. Please review this post if you would like to apply.

Folks, I believe I'm done rambling. Over and out.
