It was hard

This is how I finished the race...

I'm going to be honest, it was the hardest thing I have ever done! There were a couple times I thought I was going to die. BUT...I ended up doing pretty dang good. My time was 46:55, which isn't great but it was good enough for this race.

A big thanks to my cheerleaders. They sat/stood in the hot sun to see me roll around in mud. Blogger World, that's love!

Here's a group shot of the fellow crazies.

Playing in the mud

Last week I mentioned signing up for the Warrior Dash. An intense gut hurting 5K that includes obstacles. Well, in preparation for that race, I'm participating in another obstacle 5K race, Dirty30. As you can see, this race will include 7 tons of mud and 15 obstacles. Piece of cake!

I'm about 54% sure I can get my butt over the wall I have to climb. Also, I'm pretending the 7 tons of mud is like a day at the spa. Don't people pay big bucks to roll around in mud? I think it does something for your skin?

But for today, I ask each one of you to pray for me. I will need every pray spoken on my behalf. Go ahead I'll wait................................................

Folks, this is serious stuff I have climb a wall that looks similar to this...

Ok so maybe I'm being a bit dramatic, because that's a picture of the Great Wall of China. I'm sure they will not have a replica of the Great Wall. However, if they did I'd be prepared because I've already conquered this wall. True story!

And so began my love affair with water

Fact: Air condition needs water to run properly.

Fact: Toilets need water...to do their job.

What do these facts have in common? Water. A key component that is lacking at my office. It should be an interesting day. I've already called bathroom breaks at the local Starbucks!

Questions of the Day

Blogger World, I have three questions.

1) Why does the printer break when I'm in a hurry?

2) Who has time to make this? It's like 20 steps.

3) Why is she still famous?

Freak of Nature

Blogger World, I've reached a new level of stupid.
I've signed up for the Warrior Dash. If you are unfamilar with the race let me explain.

It's a 5K that includes 12 obstacles.

Obstacles that include:
Trudging through waist deep water
Jumping over cars
Jumping over fire
Climbing a wall
Crawling across tangled ropes
Running up a hill
Running through mud

Crazy? Probably so.

Fun? Not doubt!

Here's to the other freaks of nature out there! Long live the craziness.....

God's Country

Right now I'm in God's Country; which is West Texas. If you are curious, this is West Texas....
It's breath taking isn't it? This is the scenery for about 5 hours. After 3 hours you become very thirsty. I'm assuming gas stations make a killing around here.

Personally, this is why I love West Texas....
Blogger World, you have not lived until you've had a true breakfast burrito. I'm talking fresh tortillas, not Mission Tortillas, stuff with eggs, cheese, and covered in fresh salsa. It's so good, I ate one even though I'd already eaten breakfast, yogurt and a bagel. What? I'll run it off! Don't judge.

One man's trash is another man's treasure

Today is big trash day. This morning, while running, I was checking out everyone's junk. One house had some great junk. They were tossing a grill, a nice grill. If I didn't already have one I would have rolled that sucker home. Another house was tossing two lawn chairs.

The first lap, around the block, I just "eyed" the lawn chairs. The second lap, I ran closer to the curb to see what type of lawn chairs they were tossing. The third lap, I stopped to see if there were in good condition. The fourth lap, I grabbed one of the lawn chairs. I placed that baby on top of my head and started walking home. Imagine the Chiquita Banana Lady but with a lawn chair.

WHAT? The lawn chair was in perfect condition, and lawn chairs are expensive! Who doesn't need an extra lawn chair?

The moral of this post, please hide all your junk because I have no shame in stealing it!

Ramblings...

Folks, this is no Plane Jane Ramblings. No, no, this is a special addition. Blogger World, today I
bring you Ramblings with Pictures. Are you excited? I'm excited!

This is a picture of my new dress. It's from Old Navy. Here's the thing, I bought Old Navy's Groupon thinking it would be great for baby presents. When I walked into Old Navy I had every intent on using the Groupon for a gift. But I saw this dress and things went downhill-like I didn't buy a present for anyone but myself. Good news, I've already worn the dress. It's very comfortable. I give it 4 stars. I would give it 5 stars, but I wore it to the movies and froze to death.

I have a confession. I don't understand everyone's fascination with Pippa. She has become an overnight sensation. I get that her sister marrying Prince William was a big deal. Ok, huge deal. But The Royal Wedding was a long time ago. Why am I still reading about Pippa? Why does People.com post a picture of her daily? She doesn't do anything but walk around. Does she even have a job? Again, why is she still in the tabloids?

Last night I was going to make Black Bean Salsa. Have you guys had this? It's very good, and a good source of protein. I'm always looking for a good source of protein. The more protein I eat, the less likely my mom will inform me I need to take iron pills. As I said in the beginning, I was going to make this tasty side dish. I end up not making Black Bean Salsa because I was lazy. I would have had to buy groceries and chop 5 things. All-in-all I decided I could receive a good dose of protein by eating a granola bar.

Today, is Tom Hank's birthday. I would like to wish him a Happy Birthday. He's in one of my favorite movies, You've Got Mail. I also feel that it's important to mention today is also Kevin Bacon's birthday. He's also in one of my favorite movies, Footloose. Do you think Tom and Kevin are friends in real life? If so, do you think they sent Facebook messages to each other?

This summer I've been getting up at 5am to run. It's far too hot to run in the evening. We've had 18 consecutive days of 100 temps. Do you know yesterday it got up to 108? These are times I'm thankful my office keeps it at 45 all year round.

Friends, this is all the Ramblings I have for today.

Happy Friday and Happy Birthday to Tom Hanks and Kevin Bacon!

I run to eat

You'd think I could have thrown in a salad somewhere...
