The next adventure

The Sisters and I are always looking for fun things to do around town. Whether it's running a race, kayaking on the Oklahoma River, visiting the Farmer's Market, working a second job, or just enjoying a nice dinner. A few months ago, Sister #1 came up with our next adventure. She decided we should buy season football tickets to one of the local colleges. I loved this idea! I've never been a season ticket holder for a sporting event. Also, who doesn't love attending a football game in the fall? No one! So, for $35 (each) Sister #1 and I became season ticket holders for the UCO football team!

Last night was the first game. Sadly we lost, but it was a pretty close game. They only lost by 5 points. The next game is not for a couple more weeks. Sister #1 and I are already tossing around ideas for tailgating. We want the full college experience, which includes tailgating. We're envisioning something like this....

They always say...go big or go home!

Ramblings...

Hello? Are you there? Once again, I've left my lonely readers, all three of you, high and dry. Sorry. Hopefully, a big post of Ramblings will make up for my absence.

This just in...Katy Perry and John Mayer have split. Shocking, I know! US Magazine is reporting she's very upset by the split. Do you think she's really upset? I mean, they've been dating for like 2 seconds, and John Mayer has dated every girl under the sun. Well, I haven't dated him but everyone else in Hollywood has dated him.

Things have been crazy at work. This week we received all new printers. Good gosh, you want to talk about craziness. The simple switch of printers turned my office upside down. Even today, I still cannot print to my normal printer. Instead, I have to walk an extra 15 steps to another printer. This does not bother me because I'm hoping those extra steps will burn at least half calorie.

Sister # 1 and I are still running our race every month. Below you will find August's race. Recently, Sister #1 did a picture comparison from race one to this last race. In the picture, you can tell Sister #1 has firmed up and lost weight. I look the same; which is slightly disappointing, but whatever. I've come to love my body. Not really, but I know it's not going to change that much.

I suppose this is all the ramblings I have for today. Over and out...

Back to School

Today, my mom is headed back to work.

It's her D-Day.

At 08:00 hour, twenty five year olds will march into her classroom ready for battle.

It's her vs. twenty five year olds for eight months.

My mom will spend eight months molding snot nose five year olds into productive elementary students.

God bless my mom and all the other teachers out there!!! You deserve so much more than you are paid.
And no, just being a teacher is not rewarding enough!

Fail

This morning I tried a new cake recipe. Yes, I repeat this morning.

At 5am, I was up mixing together the following ingredients.

I assumed Angel Food Cake and Blueberry Pie Filling would be delicious together.

I was wrong.

Not only does my cake taste funny, it looks funny! It's flat. Not Angel Food Cake fluffy.

I'm so annoyed right now. This kind of crap never happens to Pioneer Woman.

My new running skirt

A month ago, I wrote a riveting post about my workout clothes. I confessed to all of Blogger World that I live in my workout clothes, and I needed to start purchasing cuter workout attire. See, I told you it was riveting.

This weekend I made an effort to visit Lululemon. Have you heard of them? Lululemon has the most overpriced workout apparel I have ever seen! Nevertheless, I see many people wearing their clothes at races. Since I hate to be left out of anything, I made it my mission to visit one of their stores while in Dallas.

I'm proud to report back that my mission was a success. I found one of the Lululemon stores!
If you notice, the mission was to visit the store, not purchase anything from the store. I don't know if you've figured this out about me, but I'm cheap. I do not pay $78 for a tank top. I don't care how cute it is and how fast it makes me run. For $78 that tank top better play music while I run!

As I was walking into the store I spotted the cutest running skirt. After a few debates I decided to just try on the skirt. I wanted to see if it even looked good on me, or fit me right. After-all, I'm sure these clothes are made for super skinny people. To my surprise, the skirt fit and it looked pretty good on me. Well, according to every salesperson, Sister #1, and my mom.

At first glance this skirt looks like your typical black running skirt. Right? By the way, I would kill for those legs. How do you get those legs? Sadly, the running skirt did not come with those legs. Anyway, the back of the skirt is what sold me...

Seriously, that's cute right? And it has a pocket! I'm a big fan of the pocket. It will be nice to store my keys. It's so annoying not to have a pocket in your running clothes.

So, there you have it. My first and probably last purchase from Lululemon. I will tell you that this skirt was much cheaper than the $78 tank top. I'm crazy, but not that crazy.

The man with three daughters

Today is my dad's birthday. I'm not for sure his exact age. If I had to guess...I would say he's 58ish. Am I a bad daughter because I do not know his age? It's a rhetorical question.

Don't worry, this weekend we celebrated his birthday. We went to Dallas for a fun shopping trip. Yes, that's just what he wanted. A fun weekend shopping and pedicure trip. Your welcome dad! It's fair to guess that you are probably thinking...wow that poor man. He was blessed with three daughters. How in the world does he put up with four women on a shopping trip? Well, I have the answer for your question...

The phone. The man is a texting/talking machine.
