Celebration Trip

Hello! It's been awhile. Sorry. It took me awhile to figure out the Blogger App no longer works on my phone. Anyway....A few weeks ago, my family and I took a quick trip to NYC. It was my...you survived 3 surgeries and 3 chemos celebration trip. Can I tell you, my family and I had an awesome time! I want to share tons of stories with you, but I don't want to bore you to tears. I get it, my vacation is not as exciting to you. But here are a few of my favorite stories from NYC...

The #1 thing I wanted to do while in NYC was visit Fox News. I know, lame. My favorite show, The Five, is on Fox News. I drug my family across NYC to see Fox News Headquarters. I just wanted to see the building. The Five does not have a studio audiences, so it's not like we were going to watch the show be filmed. I was completely happy snapping a picture in front of the building. But while Sister #2 was taking my picture, one of the host from MY FAVORITE SHOW walked passed us. Not only did she take a picture, but she chatted with us for awhile. Kimberly was very sweet to my mom and I. We may have been a bit star struck.

Another highlight was our food tour. My family loves to eat!!! I don't know if you are aware, but NYC has some tasty food! On our food tour we ate for a solid 2.5 hours. I mean, some walking was involved, but it was mostly eating. We highly recommend food tours. Seriously, my dad was enjoying himself.

We spent one morning touring the New York Stock Exchange. This was beyond great! I loved every second of our NYSE tour. I learned so many new things, Sister #1 and my mom were on TV, and I was on the floor when the bell rang. It was a very neat experience for my family.

I must say, I'm one lucky girl. I'm lucky to have a family who loves to celebrate major achievements!

The Beehive State

In the past year, Canada Travis and I have tried to plan two different trips. One trip was scheduled for October 2015 and the other was February 2016. However, life happened and both trips had to be cancelled. The good news is life doesn't stop and now I can finally take a trip!!!

Over the weekend Canada Travis and I visited the Beehive State; Utah. Blogger World, Utah is beautiful fantastic place to visit. It's also my birth state, so you know it's great! I highly recommend visiting Utah. Canada Travis and I had fun exploring a few towns...Salt Lake City, Provo, and Park City. Over the weekend we hiked, biked, kayaked, ate awesome food, shopped, and even attended a car race. Here's a few pictures from our adventure.

The scenery from our bike ride. You sure can't get this in OKC.

We kayaked two miles down the Provo River.

I told you we ate great food.

This is Main Street in Park City. Isn't Park City the cutest!!!

We attended a car race in Salt Lake City. It was pretty fun. We had great seats and even met one of the driver's grandparents.

The trip was concluded with top notch Mexican food.

It was hard to return to the real world and humidity.

International Bacon Day

Today, September 2nd, is International Bacon Day. Not only is it a 3-day weekend, but also Bacon Day. Is it going to be a good weekend or what???

You know, International Bacon Day reminds me of a funny story about Canada Travis. When we started dating, Canada Travis worked in a far off country. One morning on my way to work, I received a message from him saying...he'd done some online shopping while I was asleep and I needed to check my email when I got to work. Of course, my curiosity had me gitty to see what he'd purchased. When I arrived to work, I immediately open my email. There in my inbox was an invoice for 33lbs of bacon. Oh yes...you read right!!! He'd purchased 33lbs of bacon. My immediate reaction was he'd gone mad! However looking back, it ended up being kinda awesome.
So I guess you could say this day is for him.

Insta-lately

Typically, I begin this post explaining if I had an Instagram account I would post the following pictures. Well, something happened. I opened an Instagram account. I don't know what prompted me to open an account. It might have had something to do with not being able to view celebrities pics. Ok, that is absolutely the reason I opened an account. Of course, I mean that in a non-stalker/creepy way.

Anyway, I like Insta-lately so I will continue the monthlyish post. But to keep you on your toes, not all pictures will come from my Instagram account. Tricky, huh? SO, here's your Insta-lately...

Isn't TT cute?? Canada Travis bought him bow ties.

The Sisters came to the racetrack.

Last night I made one ingredient banana ice cream. It's delicious!

My dad's birthday meal.

Happy pups. Sleepy pups.

Sister #1 and I made this donut tree. It took 20 dozen donut holes and 1 hour to create.

Until next time!!!

Middle Child Day

Tomorrow, August 12th, is Middle Child Day. I'm not a middle child, but I know a middle child. Sister #1 is the middle child in our family.

In this picture Sister #2 looks like the middle child; but that's just because she's so short. We put her in the middle for most pictures.

Anyway, tomorrow is Sister #1's day. She's been a great middle child, and deserves a full day of awesomeness. Happy Middle Child Day!

Failed Scam

Last week, I received a call from the IRS.

A "robot-lady" left me an urgent message from the IRS. She told me I owe money, need to call back ASAP, and left me a New York number. The consequence of not returning the call would be a lawsuit.

A couple things about this message...
1. IRS does not call demanding payment.
2. I don't think the IRS does lawsuits? I could be wrong. Someone should Google that question, and let me know if I'm wrong.
3. The IRS does not use "robot-ladies". All of my phone calls have been with humans. Yes, I have had to call the IRS.

Obviously, I knew the IRS was not calling me. I knew the voicemail was part of some scam; which made my afternoon!!! I was going to be these scumbags worst nightmare. I immediately dialed the New York number left on my voicemail. Sadly, the number had been disconnected. I was so bummed!!!

Curious of what scam I'd missed out on, I Googled recent IRS scams. What do you know, IRS posted a scam alert the day before. The scam is "robot-folks" call claiming you owe money to IRS, with payment in Apple iTunes gift cards. Oh yes, you read right....Apple iTunes gift cards. I'm kind of insulted by this scam. Do people really think the IRS is taking payment in the form of iTunes gift cards?I don't understand the logic of this scam. Good grief!!! Sometimes I worry about this country.

Cutest Passenger Ever

Monday I took off work, and enjoyed some much needed sleep. Canada Travis did not take off so he had to go to work. Since I was at his house Canada Travis decided to leave Tiny Tank with me. I was instructed to drop off TT at his office before I went to the gym. No problem, because this cat is a fantastic traveler.

Once we started our journey, TT was on high alert. He stood like this for a good 5 minutes.

Then he decided to move to the front for a better view.

An even better view...extreme close up.

The second I turned off the dirt road, TT decided he'd seen enough and moved to the backseat.

I think this is his relaxed look, and probably when he realized I wasn't going to kidnap him. TT likes me, but he hates to be away from the Postcard pups and Canada Travis. They're all BFFs.

Yes, I just rambled about my dogs and cat. I promise to get a life soon.

Summer

Blogger World, summer is almost over and I've barely blogged! You must feel so left out. Let me catch everyone up on life....

My bathroom is receiving a facelift. Here's a picture of my new shower shelf.
I'll have more pictures once it's completed.

4th of July parade was a success! We had a cute helper the crowd loved.

Furry Friends continue to be adorable!

Canada Travis is racing lots of races.

My tiny garden is still alive. The strawberries are doing the best. This morning I picked three strawberries.

Basically, it's a typical summer for me. Hope everyone else is having a fun summer!

Father's Day

Yesterday was Father's Day. My sisters and I celebrated our terrific dad.

He's pretty great! He's taught us a lot over the past 30 years...or 25 years if you're Sister #2. The Sisters and I have definitely lucked out in the parents department.

My Hero

Last weekend, Canada Travis's hometown received a lot of rain. After three hours of a downpour, I decided to head home before bridges were washed out. Unfortunately, I waited too long. I made it three miles from Canada Travis's house before I had to turn around. On my journey back to his house, I came to an almost washed out bridge. Since I didn't want to be on the news, I called my boyfriend. He came to my rescue.

Blogger World, you're looking at the bridge I walked across. Not something I'd promote, but the alternative was sitting in the car until the rain stopped.

I went back to Canada Travis's house for a couple hours, and finally made it home. I took a few pictures on the way home...

I know rain is good, but good grief!

Life is better with a party

This weekend, The Sisters and I threw my mom a surprise retirement party. It was a fun event. Many friends and family showed up to help jump start my mom's retirement. It was a great time! In true blogger fashion I documented with pictures.

She was so surprised!!

All guest took home a flower to plant in their flowerbed.

We had a photo station for guest. Everyone had their picture made to put in my mom's Attendance Book.

The Sisters and I went overboard on the food. We had enough treats to feed the town!

All the family members that were in attendance. I do have the best family!!!

I think the party was a success, and I think my mom had a good time!

Weight Loss Challenge

I have entered a weight loss challenge. A competition to see who can lose the greatest body fat percentage.

Today, I will visit a trainer who will measure my body fat percentage. No doubt this will be a depressing experience. I know my body fat percentage is going to be a high number.
However, it will give me the motivation to buckle down on my diet and continue working out!!!

Soo...here's to day 1 of the weigh loss challenge!

Wedding Weekend

Blogger World, have you met Rex???!

Rex and Canada Travis were roommates in Canada. The two Oklahoma boys bonded over OU football, Gary England, Mexican food, and Trailer Park Boys.
They spent 2 yrs in Canada and over a year in Middle East together. Needless to say, Rex and Canada Travis are tight.

Saturday, Rex married Elizabeth.
It was a swell occasion! A church wedding followed with a hot outdoor reception.

Canada Travis and I had a blast celebrating their love, meeting new friends, and enjoying great food.

Thank you Rex and Elizabeth for getting married!!! It was our honor to assist in the celebrations.

Happy Birthday PP

Sunday was the Postcard Puppies Birthday. It was one year ago, Canada Travis found them at the dumpster. I cannot imagine life without these two.

Seriously, these dogs are the cutest sleepers!!!

Both dogs love Tiny Tank!

I couldn't ask for better guard dogs. When they're around no squirrels enter my backyard.

Happy Birthday Postcard Puppies!!!'
