Day 4

On Day 4 we decided to venture outside the woods and head into town. We started our morning with a hot beverage and Free WiFi.

After a relaxing breakfast and reading it was time for lunch. We found a local pizza place that served wood-fire pizzas. It was a cute little joint, with outdoor seating, and served crispy pizza.

The rest of the afternoon was touring a local winery, Falls Creek Winery.

It was a good day. I mean, we didn't catch anything but I did enjoy a Non-Fat Chai. You guys know how much I enjoy my hot beverages.

Day 3

Day 3 didn't start out full of excitement like Day 2. In fact, Day 3 started out slow. Canada Travis and I must have been tired because we slept in until 9am.

Breakfast was breakfast burritos with leftover brisket. Our morning beverage of choice was hot chocolate. It was mighty tasty.

Most of the morning was spent in the swing. I read my book and Canada Travis had to do some work.

The excitement of the day came after lunch. We went back to our fishing hole, and Canada Travis caught us a fish!

We named him John Doe #1, because he could not stay long enough to show us his ID. Before you know it, John Doe #1 was back in the water with his friends.

Right now we are working on dinner. Tonight is chili night. Yum!!

Day 2

I'm Blogger World, Day 2 started out very exciting. While on my morning walk, I noticed a hog in the hog trap.
We decided to name him Henry. We didn't know what to do with Henry, so we made a call to a local farmer. He had a guy who took Henry off our hands.

After we dealt with Henry it was time to start breakfast. Our breakfast was fantastic!
You can't beat eggs, bacon, and Texas toast.

Later in the afternoon we headed back to the river for fishing and to cool off.

An hour and half, three different location, we only had one bite. It was on our last cast of the day. Of course, now we will have to try again tomorrow.

Now I have to go. It's all hands on deck for dinner. It's quesadilla night!!

Day 1

Canada Travis and I decided it would be fun to document our camping adventure. Ok, I thought it would be fun. Canada Travis could careless if I blogged about our camping adventure. However, this is my blog so you're getting a play-by-play of each day. You are welcome Blogger World!

First thing we had to do is set up our new home.

It's still hot here in Texas so we spent some time in the shade. I read my book, and Canada Travis read the news.

Sitting in the shade didn't quite cool us off so we hiked to the river. The water felt very nice on our little toes!

That's all for Day 1. Right now it's dinner time, and there's nothing like campfire food! Until tomorrow....

Camping

Canada Travis and I have decided to go camping for a week. Did you read that...a week! As in seven days. In theory, a week long camping trip sounds very fun. Seven days of mother nature and s'mores. How can eating s'mores and chili for seven days be horrible?

Confession: I do not look this pretty when I camp.
Another Confession: No one looks this pretty when they camp!

This will be the third year Canada Travis and I have gone camping together. Our previous trips have been a blast. We always have fun, eat great food, and find projects to keep us busy. But did I mention all other camping trips have been three days? Seven days is new for us.

I'm sure I'll be able to handle seven days in the woods, right? Can you tell I'm starting to get nervous about seven days in the woods? What was I thinking when I agreed to this? Let's hope this isn't me on day 5...

You know, Cool Coworker and her husband are going to Jamaica for eight days. Why didn't I think of Jamaica! I could hang out on the beach for eight days!

Wait, I want to switch destinations.
Is it too late to switch destinations?
HELLO!!!

Blogger World, wish me luck on my seven day camping trip!

Retired Life

Blogger World, I've been released from my job! Praise the Lord!!!

Monday afternoon HR told me to turn in my badge and hit the road. It was a weird emotion. I was excited to have time off; but extremely sad to walk away from my work home/family of nine years.

Few days later I'm here to tell you...I'm loving the extra time off!!! Here's a few pictures of what I've been doing...

Eating!! Ha! The first picture was the dinner I prepared for The Sisters. We had pasta with butternut squash sauce and sausage. The second picture was my Tuesday lunch date. Sister #2 and I enjoyed a fab lunch!

I can't wait to see what else I do with my free time.

Weekend Update

Blogger World, another fun weekend has come and gone. It's so sad that Monday is already here, but another weekend is on it's way. Until then, let's recap my weekend.

Even though it was a bad weekend for Oklahoma football, the rest of the weekend was great.
I hope you had a good weekend as well!

And it continues

Well, I'm still in between jobs. I thought this week I'd receive an early release notice; which means I wouldn't be required to show up for work. I'd have to be available by phone, but not come into the office. However, this did not happen. Therefore, I'm still showing up to work. The good news is I just show up. No work is being done from my cubicle. In fact, sometimes I don't even open my email.

Despite still having to come into the office, I am enjoying my free time. Here are some highlights from the past few days....

Massage:
This massage chair is on display at my local Bed Bath and Beyond. I'm not ashamed to say I sat in the chair for 5 minutes.  I spend enough money in that store to take advantage of a free massage.

Ebola Watch:
I spend a good portion of my day watching the news. Yesterday, I had to notify one of my coworkers that the newest Ebola patient flew from Ohio to Dallas. She flew to Ohio the same day the lady flew to Dallas.

 Food:
Each day this week I've met a friend for lunch. A new person each day. It's been very fun, and I've eaten some great food!

Jazzercise:
I've attended many classes over the past few days. So far this week I've attended five classes. Today, I'm just going to attend one class. However, if the mood strikes me I might boogie on to the next class. You never know with me.

I'm going to wrap up this post. I've been at work long enough. It's almost time for my next lunch date.

Living the Good Life

Right now, I'm in between jobs. What could have been a stressful situation has been fantastic! I've accomplished so many things the past few weeks. For instance, yesterday I organized my tax paperwork for 2013 and 2014. Also, I made a huge pot of Chicken and Dumplings, which fed myself and The Sisters. Lastly, I attended 2 aerobics classes. Folks, I did all these things before 5:00 pm!

I start my new job next month, so I'm really trying to tackle a huge To Do List before becoming a full time employee again. Today, I have another laundry list of things to do.

Today's To Do List:
1) Lunch with old coworker
2) Wash curtains
3) Make hair appointment
4) 2 aerobics classes
5) Cook dinner for The Sisters and myself
6) Reschedule a dr appointment
7) Call dr about medicine

Blogger World, wish me luck on my list!
