Road Trip!

Today, I might be taking a 24 hour road trip. My time will be spent two ways- driving and sitting in an office. Blogger World, don't be jealous.

The pros for this road trip:
Chicken Express
Breakfast Burritos
Steak Fingers with Rolls
Goats
Cactus
White Pick-ups

Again, don't be jealous. I know you all wish your life was as glamorous as mine.

Confessions of a Drama Queen

Yesterday, I thought I was dying.

Sunday, I was in Hometown, USA, celebrating Father's Day, when my parents received a call stating traces of E.coli had been found in the drinking water. This was alarming news, since I'd just downed a glass of water.

Fast forward to yesterday mid morning. All the sudden my head and stomach began to hurt. Then I started having hot flashes and grinding my teeth. These are my symptoms of throwing up.

Since I was positive the headache and stomach ache were results of E.coli I felt I needed to notify someone. I turned to Sister #1 in a heartfelt email...
I think I have E.coli. I feel gross today. I have a headache, and I feel like I’m about to throw up. I’m already doing the….sweating/ grinding of teeth. Those are my throwing up symptoms, which are the exact same as my car sick symptoms.
Sidenote: Please note I pointed out my car sick symptoms. Sister #1 has always thought my car sick stuff is a bunch of bull. She says I use it to get the back seat. I'm not saying she's right, because she's not, but it's not my fault she didn't think of it 20 years ago. I'm just saying.

Sister #1...

Well then you should probably head home!

After I decide I'm officially headed to the Good Lord I sent one more message....
I didn't think E.coli would be the way I'd go. Please take care of my new overpriced flowers when I pass. They were too expensive to just let die.

Obviously, I'm still here. However, it is safe to assume that I am the Drama Queen of the Sisters.

To cut or not to cut

Today, I've reached my breaking point. I'm over long hair. For almost a year I've been sporting long hair. I normally do not have long hair, because my hair is fine and it requires too much time and hair spray to fix. However, the past year I thought the long hair was a nice change so I put up with the time and rollers/hair spray to make it beautiful. Well, semi-presentable.

Therefore, I need to find a cut to repalce the long stringy mess. Here are some options....

A.
B.
C.

I probably won't do the Meg Ryan cut, but it's cute. It's her You've Got Mail haircut. I just love that movie, and I love Meg Ryan in that movie. I really want her hair. Anyway, folks what are your thoughts on chopping my hair? What do you think of the options? I would give you more options, but I just decided 10 minutes ago I'm ready to chop it off.

Wanted

I'm in the market for a new travel partner. I already have a solid list of travel partners- my family, KC, and Holly. However, it's always good to have back-ups. You never know when people will get married, start having children, or they ditch you for their best friend. On the last point, I'm looking at you Sister #1. She's going to NYC without me, and she's going in the fall. I've always wanted to see NYC in the fall! Anyway, I'm stocking up on travel partners. I need options when it comes to travel partners, because you never know when SW is going to have a sale and you're going to find Charleston, SC tickets for $80. Really, who can predict something like this?

Blogger World, if you or anyone you know meets these requirements please let me know. Folks, this is an important matter!

Breathing
Someone who loves to travel

Someone who enjoys new cities
Someone who wants to see everything, not lay in bed until noon
Has a passport
Wants to use their passport
Spontaneous
Enjoys a new restaurants while on vacation, not looking for the nearest Chili's

Again Blogger World, let me know....

It's the most wonderful time of the year

Folks, it's that time of the year! The time of year when I call my parents at 6:30 in the morning to ask them an important question. A question that I look forward to asking all year.

Parentals, where are we going on vacation in October?

You see, every year Southwest Airlines has a huge sale. They drastically slash the prices of all their flights. One way flights start at $40! I must say, is a pretty great deal. But the news just gets better. Do you know the best part of this annual sale? Come on, guess it will be fun. Fine, I'll tell you....other airlines have joined the big sale. This my friends causes an Air War, which allows me to continue flying Delta! HOORAY for cheap Delta airplane tickets!

We all know how I feel about Delta and why I'm a loyal customer....Ok, so I'm only half kidding about why I'm a loyal customer. It really has to do with the free tickets I've acquired over the years, which is the honest to goodness truth.

Blogger World, I must end this post to begin my search for a vacation spot for my family.

Butter Goodness

Last night Sister #1 made this wonderful dessert for a small dinner gathering.

Folks, the picture of the dessert is not deceiving. It really is as tasty as it looks. I mean, a brownie and a cookie combined? Come on, you know it taste heavenly. After one bite I knew it was very unhealthy. I could taste the butter goodness.

One difference between Sister #1 and myself is I eat something like this and analyze how much butter, sugar, or anything that's bad for you, is in the food. Last night was no exception; which is why this conversation took place....

Me: This is unhealthy?
S#1: Yes, but it's good.
Me: It has a lot of butter?
S#1: Not too bad.
Me: Lots of oil?
S#1: Everything has oil and butter.
S#1: It only had 2 tablespoons of butter in the brownie part.
Me: Wow that's not bad at all.
S#1: Oh and it had 4 tablespoons of butter in the cookie part.
Me: OH MY GOSH that's like a cup of butter. (I really have no idea how much butter is 6 tablespoons. American Math!)

Obviously, it wasn't gross because how could this creation be gross? I did feel better when our dinner host mentioned how many sticks of butter PW used last month. The amount is obscene! I would tell you the exact amount, but I don't remember the number. Oh wait I found it, 484 sticks! Can you imagine eating 484 sticks of butter? Wait a minute, how does PW stay so skinny? Do you know that 484 sticks of butter is 392,040 calories? Do you realize it took Google + 3 minutes of math to figure the calorie count out? Seriously, I need to work on my math skills!

Worked all week it's time to play

Blogger World, I have returned from my much need vacation. And let me stress once again, it was a much needed vacation.

The adventures took place in Nashville, TN. Last year, Sister #1 and I explored Nashville and I came home raving about the town. I just love Nashville. It's great. If you haven't been to Nashville you really need to go.

My travel partner for this trip was my friend Tara. You guys remember Tara, right? The founder of Cupcake Ministry. She's swell. This was her first time to Nashville, so I felt it was my duty to take her to all my favorite places, like The Factory. I have a thing for big rocking chairs.

Tara and I felt that you cannot visit Nashville without seeing Grand Ole Opry. I couldn't have agreed more, especially since I had never been. I highly recommend the tour!

We also made new friends. As you can see, or maybe you can't see, this is a picture of Kristin Chenoweth who happens to be from Oklahoma. We listened to her sing a few songs from her new Country Album.
We visited pretty gardens. Actually, we just visited one garden. We only saw this garden because we toured The Carnton Plantation, which again I recommend the tour. FYI...I want my backyard to look like this.
Friday I made Tara visit my favorite town. I know I have lots of favorite towns, but I just love Franklin, TN. This town is so cute. I just want to wrap it up and give it someone. Sister #1 and I fell in love with Franklin last time I was in town, but sadly we didn't have time to walk up and down the streets. This trip, I made sure I had plenty of time to explore Franklin.
The trip was great. I saw new things, and visited favorites from the last time I was in town. I highly recommend Nashville for a vacation spot. But, I think recommend it more during Spring or Fall. My Lord, it was hot!

Leaving on a jet plane

Soon and very soon I'm getting on one of these....

I am taking a much needed vacation. I'm also getting a much needed airport/airplane fix. Every three-six months I feel the need to hop on an airplane. I don't know when this started. I didn't grow up flying on airplanes. I grew up riding in cars or vans or suburbans. This airport/airplane fix is very new, and expensive.

I ramble all this worthless information to let you know I'll be MIA for a few days. Not that you'll notice, with the lack of posting. When I return I will tell lots of stories of my adventure. I'm sure it will start or stop with on of my favorite bagel shops.
It's a must when you are visiting the Memphis Airport.

Life of a Bachelorette

I had a lunch date. It was with an adult, not a two year old. I haven't been on a date in a year, which in my opinion is pretty sad but whatever that's my life.

A fellow blogger set up the date. Correction, she sent him a facebook message suggesting he should meet me, which left the ball in his court. Sidenote:I'd like to take a moment to give this guy props. He did not facebook me. He sent me a text, and suggested we have lunch. I like the text message communication. I like that we didn't spend a month sending facebook emails, which lead to no where.

The lunch date was pleasant. It was very informal. We met at Chick-fil-a . I paid for my own lunch, which means I ordered the grilled chicken fruit salad. I didn't stress about what to wear.
During lunch I didn't want to stab my right eye out, and he didn't suggest we eat at Chili's. Also, this guy is pretty out going so their wasn't awkward silence, which there usually isn't with me. I could talk to a brick wall.

After the lunch we both said it was fun and agreed to do it again. In my opinion, we both walked away thinking it was fun and we'd made a new friend. You can never have too many friends. Oh now Blogger World don't be sad. I think this lunch was a success. I met a new friend. A new eating partner or seat partner. You guys know I struggle with seat partners.

Lesson learned....nothing really. I'm always open to blind dates, because you never know who you'll meet.

Thursday

Today, during lunch I was bored and needed to get out of the office. Therefore, I ventured to Target for a cookie cake. Happy Thursday to me!

My Memorial Weekend

My Memorial Weekend was good. No, it was great. I took off Friday. Four day weekends are way better than three day weekends. In picture form, courtesy of Google, here are some of my Memorial Weekend events....

A Movie
You might think this movie would be stupid, because that's what I thought. But it's not. I'm not lying. It was actually really good. Sister #2 and I enjoyed the movie. By the way, Paul Walker is still cute!
Arts Festival
I went twice.
Pool
Blogger World, you know I love me some pool time. Sadly, this is not the pool I visited. Mine didn't have palm trees, or little hut things, and there were about 20 kids running around.
Fast and the Furious
Since we saw Fast Five, I felt that Sister #2 needed to see the first movie of the series. After she watched this movie, she understood why I was so shocked Fast Five was good. However, Sister #2 and I decided this summer we are going to watch all the Fast and Furious movies. I'll be sure to keep you posted on this Summer Goal.
Peppermint Ice Cream
I had an ice cream date. Ok fine, maybe it was a date with a tow year old. But whatever, I'm still counting it as a date. His mom paid for my ice cream.
Jazzercise
I went to class everyday. Someday, I'll look like this lady.
Carpet Cleaners
I had my carpets cleaned. It needed to be done.

Well, there you have it folks my Memorial Weekend.
