The 5 things you should know...

1. Last night's weather sequel was not really a sequel. At first the weather folks predicted the sky to fall around 3pm. When 3pm rolled around it was sunny as can be, so the weather people pushed back their prediction to 4pm. As you can imagine this went on all night. I went to bed around 10:15 and still nothing had happened around town.

2. This morning I woke up hungry, craving a big juicy hamburger.
But not this hamburger, because that's a picture of a Big Mac. I never crave Big Macs. It's partly because I'm a food snob, and partly because I'm not a big fan of Thousand Island salad dressing. Oh you know that "special sauce" is just Kraft Thousand Island salad dressing.

3. This weekend we're back to racing. Correction...I'm back to racing. Sister #1 hurt herself. Until she can walk without limping, I will be running on my own. If you are bored this weekend come join me for a run.

4. Last night I whitened my teeth. Now they feel weird and sensitive.

5. Sister #2 is playing indoor soccer. Last night she scored four goals!

Holy Hail Oklahoma!

Last night it hailed.

It was big hail, like knock your windows out hail.

The Sisters took a picture of the hail.

Along with the hail was thunder and lighting.

The lighting caused many fires.

This fire was only a few miles from my house.

So yeah, I had an eventful night.

The good news, I did not experience damage.

The bad news, there's a sequel tonight.

This weekend....

For the past four weekends Sister #1 and I have participated in some type of race.

This weekend we are taking a break from racing. Instead of lacing up our running shoes, we will be reaching for our kitchen aprons.

Wednesday night Sister #1 and I were asked to cater an event for this weekend. Of course we jumped at the job.  We never turn down an opportunity to make money!

Wish us luck as we spend the next 24 hours running around like crazy ladies.

Your Daily People.com

Can we talk about the Kardashians for a second?  Before we start, I want it known that I did not know how to spell their last name. I had to Google it. Thankyouverymuch!

Despite what you think, I do not watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Oh I know, you figured since I'm all about The Real Housewives of Any City and Gossip Girl I'd be into the Kardashians. Wrong.

Since no one can run from the Kardashian family, I felt I needed to share the latest news. Recently, I read that Kim is now dating Kayne West. Here's a picture of them in London.

They look very happy. I predict this will be a long relationship.

This concludes my discussion on the Kardashians.

Doubleheader

Saturday I ran back to back races.

I've never ran back to back races.

The morning started off with a 5K.

An hour later I was downtown getting ready for McNellie's Pub Run. Now, before you classify me as Super Athlete Chick understand I only ran 1 mile at this race. Sister #1 ran 4 miles. You can go ahead and classify her as Super Athlete Chick.

I was pretty pumped about my accomplishment. As I said before, I've never ran back to back races. All weekend I was calling it doubleheaders. However, I just read the definition of doubleheader and we did not complete a doubleheader.

Doubleheader: A doubleheader is a set of two baseball games played between the same two teams on the same day in front of the same crowd.

Obviously, baseball was not involved.

Some days...

Some days I'm the poster child for health. I eat healthy, drink lots of water, and exercise.

But then some days I wake up and this is my first thought....I would kill for some doughnuts!

Just keeping it real.

Fear the beard

Last night, I experienced Thunder Alley.

Then I went inside.

Where I wore an XL t-shirt and cheered for Thunder.

And it was awesome!!!

Mom

Blogger World, meet my mom.

Mom, meet Blogger World.

My mom is a great mom. Truth be told, she's a fantastic mom. If I were a mom, I'd want to be just like her. I mean, the pure fact that I passed 2nd-9th grade is proof that she is a rock star mom.  Folks it wasn't easy. Brain pills did not come into existence until 8th grade. I don't think you understand the years/hours of homework, crying (on my part), failed test, and tutors we went thru.

In honor of Mother's Day I thought I'd post some of my favorite things my mom has taught us girls throughout the years.

1.Do not waste.
In my family we do not throw away Cool Whip, sour cream, butter, or cottage cheese containers. These containers make awesome Tupperware.

2. Turn off the TV and go outside.
Growing up we played outside. We did not spend the weekends and summers watching TV or playing video games. I'm so happy I grew up playing outside and not sitting in front of a TV. I have some great memories of playing with all the neighborhood kids/cousins until it was dark outside.

3. Do not quit.
My mom had us participate in many events. We played sports, took dance, joined reading clubs, art class, computer class, piano lessons, and even twirling lessons. No matter how much you hated an activity, you had to see it to the end. There was not quitting in the middle.

4. Save your money.
My parents/grandparents are HUGE on this tip! Even today, at 31 years old, I'm still reminded to save my money. Honestly, I don't mind being reminded to save my money.

5. Take care of your feet.
I've mentioned this one before, but my mom is very big on buying good quality shoes. Now when I say "good quality shoes" I do not mean Jimmy Choo or Louboutin. No. We're big fans of Clarks, Born, Merrills, Keens, and Chacos. You know, the hippie shoes!

6. Learn to laugh at yourself.
Life is a more enjoyable if you laugh. We laugh a lot in my family.

7. Take care of your family
My grandma had cancer. In fact, she had cancer multiple times in her life. My mom did her best to help care for my grandma. Even though we were 6 hours away from my grandma, it didn't stop my mom. I honestly think this example my mom set helped shape The Sisters and I.

As you can see, I am blessed with a great mom. She's taught us many things, and continues to teach us.
I'm a better person because of my mom.

Your Daily People.com

Last night the 2012 Met Gala was held.

Ordinarily I would not know this piece of information.  But since I'm a loyal People.com reader, I know about the Gala.

Celebrities wear me out with their fashion. These people have millions of dollars at their expense for clothes. They also hire a team of make-up artist and stylist. I know this because I'm a loyal watcher of The Rachel Zoe Project and Bethany Ever After! Therefore, I do not understand why we have these situations...
Is she attending the Landrun? I swear, that dress looks exactly like what I wore in 4th grade when reenacting the Oklahoma Landrun. Not.Kidding.

And do celebrities not have friends? Why are her friends letting her wear this in public?

People of Hollywood please listen to me.....
First of all, you need to start eating. I'm tried of looking at your boney bodies. In fact, the rest of American is tried of looking at your boney bodies. Second, start dressing like a million bucks. We all know you have a million bucks. Sarah Jessica Parker I'm especially looking at you! I do not care that your landrun dress is Valentino!

Weekend Update w/ Pictures

I tell you what, my new iPhone has changed my life! People warned me this would happen, but I didn't believe them. Do you know how simple it is to snap a picture and upload it to Facebook? It's so stinkin' easy! Of course you already know this because you all have iPhones! It's not your fault I'm ten years behind. Sorry. But, technology sure is a great thing. Anyway, on to my weekend update with pictures....

Friday
I'd planned to have an awesome party. Friday night was going to be my 80s Bunko party. However, everyone pretty much bailed on me at the last minute. Now, I'm not sad or upset about having to cancel my party. I am sad that I didn't get to wear my new pink tutu. Yes, I bought a tutu for the party. No, I do not feel stupid for buying one. No, you cannot laugh at me.
Never fear, I still had a great Friday night, even without the tutu. Sister #1 and I tried out a new wine bar in town. It's very modern and cool. I felt hip just being in the place. Here's a picture of Sister #1 being hip and cool. She's even dressed hip and cool. I did not dress hip and cool. I wore my worn out Republican t-shirt. Yup, that's how I roll.

Saturday
Saturday was busy! First of all, it was Cinco de Mayo, which ended up meaning nothing to me. I ate some leftover Mexican food and called it good. I had high hopes of eating warm sizzling Mexican food, but it didn't work out. Oh well. Anyway, Saturday morning started out at the OKC Zoo for the MS Walk. Fun times were had by everyone that participated.  It's always great to support great causes!
The afternoon was spent watching my favorite musical! I just love Fiddler on the Roof!
Saturday evening I was invited to another painting party. I tell you what, I'm becoming a regular Pasco. It's true! Look at this awesome painting. I've already hung the masterpiece in my kitchen. I'm pretty dang proud of my artistic ability. I mean, it still looks like a child painted it, but whatever. I've come along ways since my days of not being able to cut a straight line!

Sunday
I spent the whole afternoon working in the yard. I made lots of headway, but I still have more to do. You know for a backyard that doesn't have trees, I sure have a lot of leaves.  Can I ask my neighbors to come get their leaves out of my backyard? Is that allowed!!!

As you've read, it was a great and busy weekend. I'm already counting the days down for this weekend.

Oh, and I'm not for sure why all my pictures are turned wrong. Do me a favor and just tilt your head to the side. Thanks!

Cinco De Mayo Eve

I love Cinco De Mayo because of....

and...
Ok, so maybe I'm kidding on the last picture. Folks, Happy Cinco De Mayo Eve to you!
