Finished

I think I've mentioned this before, but I'm not a crafty person. I have zero skills in arts and craft. I stink at coloring. I cannot cut in a straight line. Don't even get me started on Pinterest. Those cute home decor projects are not for me! Not in a million years could I make this cute wreath.

ZERO ARTS AND CRAFTS SKILLS

You can imagine my family's surprise when I volunteer to create the picture 60 for my dad's birthday party.

When I saw this idea on Pinterest I knew we had to do it for my dad's birthday party. We have plenty of pictures, seemed simply enough, and it would be cute.

After a week of working on this project I finally completed the 60. Blogger World, behold the picture 60....

I'm so proud of the outcome. I think it looks great!!!

Weekend Update with Pictures

Another weekend has come and gone. Hopefully, you had a great weekend. My weekend was quick, but full of fun things! Since I'm an awesome blogger, I took a few pictures during the weekend. Enjoy!

Friday Night
A new trend has happened here in OKC.  Actually, this trend started about 2-3 years ago. The trend is food trucks. Have you experienced a delightful meal made in a food truck?  If not, you should!
During the summer months, OKC has an event called H&8th. It's only on the last Friday of the month,so it's a limited event. Anyway, H&8th is a night where local food trucks set up all along a road located in downtown OKC. Friday night was my first time to attend. The event starts at 7pm, and we showed up around 7:20pm. Since the temps were in the 100s we figured people would not come out.
We were wrong:

Here's what I decided to enjoy....
I waited over an hour for this delicious pizza. It was very good, but the wait was a bit long for my taste. Next time I'm going to buy a snack to eat while waiting in line for my meal.

Saturday
As I mentioned last week, we're throwing a surprise 60th birthday party for my dad. The party is this  weekend. In order to be prepared for all the guest, we decided a trip to Dallas was in order. The Sisters, my mom, and I woke up super early to visit this grocery store:

Trader Joe's carries an inexpensive/great quality wine; and my dad likes wine. Therefore, it's only fitting we serve wine at his party. Do you see why a trip to Dallas was necessary? We had to buy wine:
We bought a lot of wine. We might have gone overboard.

After our quick grocery trip it was a late lunch at Sister #2's favorite hamburger joint.
Blogger World, In-N-Out does have great shakes. My favorite is Strawberry.

Saturday Night
Once I made it home from Dallas, I took off to watch Canada Travis race. The poor guy was exhausted from racing the night before, but still managed to do well on Saturday night.

After all that fun...I spent Sunday recovering!

Failed Tomato Soup

Proof that it's not all sunshine and rainbows in my world....

Blogger World, you're looking at a picture of burnt tomato soup. I completely forgot it was on the stove while I proceeded to enjoy a Jazzercise class, trip to CVS, and Hobby Lobby. When I arrived home, I was greeted with the smell of burnt tomatoes. YUM!

I'm sure it will take me all of next week to scrub this pan.

My Family

Next weekend, The Sisters, my mom, and I are throwing my dad a surprise 60th birthday party. He has no clue we're doing this; which is why he planned his own party a few weeks ago.

At the party, I'm in charge of this decoration...

I've spent most of the morning looking for photos to use for the big 6-0.
Don't you just love looking at old photos? I do. It's a good time to reflect back on what hair styles worked, and what didn't work. Also, it's nice to see that my fashion sense has not changed in the past ten years. Workout clothes all the way!

Over the years my family has taken some great pictures. I thought I'd share a few of my favorites.

I'm sure there are way more, but I'm only working with what's on Facebook.
Don't you love the digital age!

Cherry Tomato Fairy

Sunday evening I went out to the garden to find lots of cherry tomatoes that were ready for picking. Here's a picture of all the cherry tomatoes I was able to pick.

Obviously, I am unable to consume all those tomatoes. Naturally, I would give The Sisters some tomatoes, but Saturday they'd picked a big batch of tomatoes for themselves. Therefore, I've been giving away my cherry tomatoes...just call me the Cherry Tomato Fairy.

Each day I take a small bag to various people. I've had so much fun sharing with my friends and coworkers! Monday, I delivered tomatoes to my Starbucks friends, a coworker, and Canada Travis. Tuesday, I gave a bag to a walking partner and her husband. Today, I'm giving a bag to another coworker. If you'd like to be visited by the Cherry Tomato Fairy let me know!

Weekend Update with Pictures

This summer I've spent most weekends watching Canada Travis race. But this weekend I was home and I took advantage of being home.

Friday
I spent most of the day cooking. I made 7 casseroles, sausage balls, and loaf of bread. Folks, that's a ton of cooking!!! It wore me out.

Friday evening I had dinner with friends. As you can see, she was not impressed with taking a Selfie.
Saturday
I attended two birthday parties. Sadly, I do not have a picture from the first party. I was more focused on lunch than pictures.

Saturday evening my family and I helped celebrate this lady's 60th Birthday. It was a BBQ birthday party, and the temps couldn't have been better. In fact, by the time we left I was cold. Cold? Who gets cold in July?
The BBQ was held in a backyard that had an awesome playhouse. This playhouse had tile, curtains, real door handle, and a chalk wall. It was almost as cool as my real house! Sister #2 and I felt we needed a picture.

Sunday

After church I had some much needed pool time.

I love pool time!

Oreos

This morning on the radio, I heard Oreo is planning to release a new flavor...Fried Chicken Oreo.

Sick.Me.Out!

However, despite my opinion of the new flavor, many people seemed to be very excited over a Fried Chicken Oreo. Sadly, those people are going to be very disappointed. After some online reading, I discovered Oreo has no plans to release the Fried Chicken Oreo. The Internet lied.

Even though we will not see a Fried Chicken Oreo I did find this flavor...

I don't like Oreos but this sounds delicious! Where can you purchase these babies? I've never seen them around here, and I visit Target very frequently. Very frequently!

Blogger World, if you have tasted these what did you think? Are they worth the calories?

My Favorite Things

Every once in awhile I like to give you a list of My Favorite Things.

Why?

I have no idea.

In my world, everyone wants to know what I love! In reality, no one cares. However, that does not stop me from posting an updated My Favorite Things list.

Love them, hate them, it doesn't matter to me.

All Recipes Magazine
This magazine is full of recipes, kitchen tips, product reviews, and recipe reviews.
The best part is the recipes are doable. Some cooking magazines have very complicated recipes. I'm considering anything past 7 steps as complicated.

My Garden
You know how people are always showing you pictures of their kids or pets? Well, I show pictures of my garden. I love my garden!

 Ninja Blender
Canada Travis bought me this blender for my birthday. Ever since I received the blender, I've been making smoothies like crazy. It's a fantastic blender! This week I'm going to do tomato soup in this baby!

The Five
Fox's The Five is my favorite show on TV. I DVR it everyday, and watch it while I eat dinner.
I realize I post about worthless Hollywood gossip, but I'm also a huge news junky. It's fun to know about Hollywood gossip, but it's important to know what's going on around you.

Vanicream
This is my moisturizer.  My ultra sensitive skin can't handle anything else.

Dad's Party

My dad, along with four of his friends, are turning 60 this summer. To celebrate this event the five of them decided to throw themselves a birthday party.

And boy did they throw a party. There was food, drinks, lots of people, and a band.
Here are more pictures from the party.

Oh, and thanks for everyone's input on a dress.
I went with dress #5, but a different color from the picture posted earlier.

Hero of the Day

Give it up for today's Hero of the Day....Captain Gerhard Bradner

Monday night, passengers aboard a stranded Frontier Airlines flight were treated to an impromptu pizza party  after the pilot Captain Gerhard Bradner bought more than 30 pizzas, on his own dime, for passengers.  The world could use a few more people like Captain Gerhard Bradner!

Summer TV

Blogger World, do you remember when there was NOTHING on TV during the summer?

It kind of sucked!

I know, summer means longer days and I need to be outside enjoying the fresh air.
BUT...summers are freakin' hot here in Oklahoma! Once I get home from Jazzercise I'm pretty much done for the evening. The heat wears you out.

Therefore, I watch summer TV shows. This year I have a full lineup.
SOOO here's what I'm watching during summer.
