The Weekend

This weekend I have plans. My family + Canada Travis are going to Little Rock, AR. This weekend Little Rock is hosting a weekend of running. It's the weekend of the Little Rock marathon.

My family is meeting some of our extended family in Little Rock for the run. It's going to be one big family run! Doesn't that sound fun? I agree!

Of course....that's the plans of right now. There's a chance we won't go because Mother Nature has her own plans.
Soooo long story short, I have no idea what I'm doing this weekend.

Ghetto Fabulous

Yesterday at work, I moved offices.

Everything was going well with setting up my equipment until the phone. For some reason we could not get the phone to work. Three of us tried multiple things to get the phone to work. Nothing. It was finally decided my phone jack did not work. After a helpful conversation with IT, I decided to take matters into my own hands. The solution...

Use a phone jack in the hallway! Bam...problem solved!!! Sure, there's a phone cord running down the hallway, but I found a solution.

You know, I really should change the title of this post. It shouldn't be Ghetto Fabulous. It should be Resourceful Woman or Getting Sh*t Done!!!

Here's what's happening in the city...

Do you watch cooking shows on The Food Network? I do. It's part of my Saturday morning routine. My favorite show is Pioneer Woman's. She begins each episode by saying...here's what's happening on the ranch. Of course, there's always something exciting happening on a the ranch.

Well, I don't live on a ranch. I live in the city. I don't haul hay, build fences, or ride horses. It's true! However, whatever I'm missing in ranch life I gain in knowing a 24 hour Walgreens is down the street. There are some days when you have to visit Walgreens at 6:00am for this magic juice....
This morning I was loving the city life!

FYI...

I love to celebrate life events. I'm not just talking about the major things like birthdays and anniversaries. I've been known to celebrate crazy life events. For example...weighloss, new job, completion of half marathons, surviving a tough week at work, and passing classes when getting my MBA. You get the idea...I like to celebrate!

Therefore, I'm hoping you understand why I'm so excited about the new website I discovered. This website list all the food holidays for each month. I had no idea so many exist! Did you know tomorrow, Feb 19th, is Chocolate Mint Day? Me neither! You guys need to check out this website...

VDay

Today's post is a recap from my Valentines Day. Canada Travis and I had a nice VDay.

My first present came Friday afternoon.

He sent me pretty tulips! I like tulips.
I was super awesome and bought him a pizza in the shape of my heart...

Saturday, I received the rest of my VDay present. He made me dinner! A delicious dinner.  Here are a few pictures from dinner:

The finished product was delicious....
CT made Alfredo Pasta with chicken and mushrooms. He also made the good looking asparagus. I made the salad with tomato vingerette dressing. It was all delicious!!!

It was a great day of love!!!

President's Day

Most of my great state is experiencing a snow day. I however, am celebrating President's Day. I'm very happy my office is closed today. The roads look scary.

Since I'm stuck in the house I decided to tackle a project. I organized my pantry. Blogger World, here's a before picture:

I'm embarrassed! This is a disorganized mess. A single person should be able to manage their pantry better!!!

The cleaning out process was eye opening. For example, I have a jam problem.
You are looking at 6 unopened jams. I also have 3 opened jams in the fridge. Don't you feel that's a bit much? Me too!

After an hour of cleaning out and organizing, I have a more presentable pantry.

Ok, so this picture doesn't make it look super organized, but trust me it's organized!!!

Crock Pot Meal Making

A few weeks ago, I attended a Crock Pot Meal Making Party. My friend KC hosted and organized this party. If you are not familiar with the idea allow me to explain....

The idea of the party is to prepare 10 crock pot meals at one time. I paid KC $40 to attend the party. In return, KC selected the meals, bought the ingredients, and set everything up to prepare the meals. The day of the party, I showed up to her house ready to prepare all 10 meals. KC set up her kitchen with 10 stations. I moved from station to station adding ingredients to a freezer bag. All of the meals feed a family of 4-6. I should add that KC did not provide the meat for the meals.

Since I'm a family of one, sometimes two if CT is in town, I asked The Sisters to split the cost with me. We split each meal three ways; which is plenty of food for one person.

Friday night we got together to split the food. Here are pictures from the evening.

Preparing to split up everything.

Almost finished dividing everything.

The Sisters food.

This whole experience was perfect! Ten prepared meals is a huge help! It only took 45 minutes at KC's house, and another hour on Friday night.

KC did a great job selecting the menu. Here's a list of some of our meals:
BBQ Spareribs
Lemon Garlic Pork Chops
Honey Garlic Chicken
Hawaiian Chicken
Asian Pork Roast
Adobo Chicken

Everything sounds delicious!!! Blogger World if you are ever invited to one of these parties...GO! You will not be sad.

Party like a Rockstar

This is how I partied Friday night.
I must say, Red Velvet Oreos are pretty good. Canada Travis liked them so much he triple stacked his.

I am the champion

To say I'm obsessed with my Fitbit is an understatement. One of the things I enjoy about my Fitbit is you can compete against fellow Fitbit users. Sister #1 and my mom are both Fitbit users, and we compete on a daily basis. My mom is my biggest competitor. She is a kindergarten teacher, which means she's constantly on her feet.

Blogger World, no competitor is to big for me! Right now, I'm crushing my mom!!!
You see that; 22k steps for my mom! I'm the champ!!!!

Truth be told, my mom is probably walking around with a dead Fitbit. But that's her fault not mine. The competition must continue! Even if someone's Fitbit dies!!

Bodacious

As you know, Sister #1 has two dogs, Pepper and Bodacious. I've posted pictures of both dogs multiple times on this blog. However, I've never really introduced you to Sister # 1 second dog, Bodacious. So, here's some facts about Dog #2.

1. Sister #1 adopted Bodacious after being a foster parent for all 3 minutes.
2. Bodacious does not play well with other dogs. She is put in time out at Doggy Daycare pretty much every time she's there.
3. She hides her food bowl. We think it's because of her years in the dog shelter.
She's even known for putting toys over her food.
4. Bodacious is a morning dog. Once someone's alarm goes off she's ready for the world. Pepper on the other hand, is not a morning dog.
5. Bodacious is very protective of her toys. She makes sure they are near her at all times.

It's funny how dogs have such different personalities; kind of like humans. I didn't grow up having dogs so all of this is new territory for me; which is why I'm thankful Sister #1 has the dogs.
