It's Friday!!!!

Blogger World it's Friday, and it's not just any Friday!

No way!

Today, is Backwards Day and Chinese New Year.

Why not celebrate both holidays with a Pineapple Upside Down Cake?

Here's a simply recipe from my dear friend Betty Crocker.

She's so cool!

Insta-Lately

Insta-Lately is a post where we all pretend this blog is my Instagram account.
It's very fun!

This is the finished result of my Pinterest fail project. It turned out pretty well if you ask me.

One day this week I woke up to snow on the ground.
By the way it's not snowing in this picture, my windshield is just that dirty. Gross, I know.

He picked out a cupcake bigger than his mouth.

My old roommate make this for me.
I love it!
This is a great reminder of why I go to work every morning.

The End

Cookie Butter...get some

Last week I received a wonderful surprise on my doorstep! When I arrived home from work a package was waiting on my doorstep. Is there anything more exciting than mail? Never-mind I'll answer the question for you, no there's not. I don't care if you are 5 years old or 50 years old, mail is awesome! Especially when the package is food....

Blogger World, have you tried this stuff? It's Trader Joe's Cookie Butter. I highly recommend everyone try this delicious Cookie Butter. I'm here to tell you it really does taste like a cookie. A crumbed up Biscoff Cookie, which is my favorite Delta Airlines snack.

My dear friend Krista...

sent me some from her local Trader Joe's. Isn't she the sweetest? God bless her! She knows how to brighten my day.

Sunday Funday

This weekend the temperatures were wonderful here in OKC! Saturday and Sunday were perfect spring days. Normally, I'm not a fan of unseasonable temperatures. It confuses me, causes my allergies to go crazy, and I have to dig out shorts or sweaters depending on the time of year. But this weekend, I welcomed the warmer temperatures.

To celebrate the warmer temperatures Canada Travis and I played a friendly round of disc golf. I'd never played disc golf, but was willing to give it a try. The end result was good. We had fun, walked a bunch of steps, and I was half way decent. I mean, I hit a lot of trees with the disc, but nothing got stuck in the trees. Success in my book!  Canada Travis and I had so much fun I decided to document the last few holes.

This was my prize shot! I managed to throw the disc in the ditch!

Action shot of Canada Travis.

Proof that I did get a disc into the cage. This picture was not staged. Ok, maybe it was staged, but only because Canada Travis and I both used the orange disc.

I predict there will be many more disc golf games in my future. I'll be sure to keep you updated on my improvement.

OK Chick Appleseed

Last Friday evening, Sister #2 and I made Applesauce. I'm still on the fence of whether this makes us awesome or losers. I choose awesome because I'm a positive person.

I wouldn't be a blogger if I did not take pictures of making Applesauce.  Now I am going to warn you, I'm not Pioneer Woman. Therefore my pictures are not great, because I do not take beautiful food pictures. In fact, you should always keep that in mind when viewing food pictures on this blog. Ok, since we've covered that disclaimer here are the pictures...

Step 1
We put 8 pealed/cut apples, brown sugar, water, and lots of cinnamon is this beautiful red pot.

Step 2
All the wonderful mixture from Step 1 cooked for about 25-30 minutes on medium. Folks, this mixture smells divine. Your kitchen will smell like heaven. HEAVEN I tell you!

Step 3
After the apples start to look mushy, we moved the apples to a new bowl to begin mashing. Step 3 could have been done with a food processor, but I'm lazy. Have you guys tried to wash a food processor? It's like 20 parts, the parts are odd shaped, and it takes up tons of room in the dishwasher. Needless to say, I felt like this was a fork project.

Step 4
When the mashing was complete, Sister #2 and I poured all the Applesauce in cute mason jars. I did this because I have a large amount of mason jars in my kitchen, it made me feel like I was Pioneer Woman, and it made me feel like I was canning something.

Folks, making Applesauce is very easy and cheap. It cost $3.55 for this project, and look at all the Applesauce! If you are interested in making Applesauce I recommend you hop over to PW's blog. She listed actual ingredients with measurements.

Pinterest Fail

Last weekend I got crafty. Blame it on Pinterest. This is why I have a love hate relationship with Pinterest. It encourages me to be crafty, but the reality is I'm not a crafty person. Therefore, the end result of my craft project is an epic fail. Epic fail, people! Anyway, this picture on Pinterest inspired me.

Cute, right?
I figured I could manage this little project. How hard could it be to arrange empty picture frames? I happened to have three empty picture frames lying around my house so it was a win/win project. Blogger World, arranging empty picture frames is kind of hard. Here's my version of the Pinterest picture.

What? What is that?
Obviously....another Pinterest fail on my part. Even if the picture quality was better, it would still look like crap. Let's be honest, don't tiptoe around my feelings!

Sister #1, Sister #2, and Tonya gave me a "Come to Jesus" talk about this project. They were honest and informed me it looked like crap.

After some soul searching, a quick trip to Hobby Lobby, and help from Canada Travis I fixed my Pinterest fail. I think it's much better.

I'm not quite done, but it's a good start. Last night I painted the L red; and this weekend I plan to buy one more white frame for the empty red frame. After those two things I think this project will be complete. Thank goodness! No more craft time for me.

Food Favorites

Blogger World, I come to you with an empty stomach. Right now, I'm so hungry! But it's that weird in-between time. You know what I'm talking about? It's not time for the next meal, but there's not enough time for a snack. You understand, right?

Anyway, to distract myself here's a list of my newest favorite food items. I haven't posted a list like this in awhile. Well let's be honest, I haven't posted anything lately.

I've rediscovered my love for hot chocolate. This is what happens when you're snowed inside and cannot drive to the nearest Starbucks. I mean, I could have hiked to Starbucks, in the snow, but I'm lazy. What? It's the truth!

My love for hot chocolate has directed me to these marshmallow bites. Have you guys had these? No? You need to buy some immediately!

Back in April, Canada Travis bought a huge bag of gummy bears. At the time this did not phase me because I'm not really into sugar candy. But one day the gummy bears were laying on the cabinet and tried one. ONE GUMMY BEAR LED TO AN ADDICTION!! I love these little guys, and now I keep them in the house!
Saturday, I finished the last of my gummy bears stash. It was so sad. I don't have a grocery store trip planned for another couple weeks.

And just so everyone doesn't think I sit around drinking hot chocolate and eating gummy bears all day; I'll  throw in a fruit. Who doesn't love the baby oranges? They're so cute.

So here's my unhealthy food list. Please don't judge...

Did this put a smile on your face?

No?

Ok, how about this one:

Oh, you're not a Walking Dead fan?

Well, how about your just smile because it's Friday?

If Cameron can do it so can you.

Happy Friday Blogger World.

It's cold

It's cold outside.
Is it cold at your house?
It's cold at my house.
Let me repeat, it's cold outside!

This morning, I woke up to a temperature of 7 degrees.  Folks that's not a windchill, it's the actual temperature outside. I realize it's not as cold as any of the states up north, but it's still cold!

Sister #1's furry friend, Pepper, is not a fan of the cold temperature. Today, Sister #2 sent me this picture of Pepper. Poor Pepper....

FYI...she's also not a morning animal.

Hello 2014

I'm not one for New Year's Resolutions. I'm one of these crazy people that feels if something needs to be changed or improved in my life I change it right then;I do not wait for January 1st. However, with all that said I plan to improve a few things in my life.

1. Blog More!
2. Write down all food that goes into my mouth hole!

The end! My list for 2014. Blogger World, you have many more blog post headed your way in 2014. Get excited people!

Since we've covered my 2014 goals in four weak paragraphs, let's recap the end of 2013.

One week before Christmas I took a quick weekend trip to visit a dear friend. Her and her husband recently moved to TX and I was more than happy to go visit. Krista and I had a fun exploring TX, shopping, and eating excellent food. I can't wait to go back to see her.

Christmas and New Year's were great times for me. I must have been a good girl because I received way too many presents. Here's one of the presents I received from Canada Travis.

Isn't it a beautiful cutting board? After all the hours of watching The Food Network, I wanted a real cutting board. One that says this girl cooks and means business!

On a sad note, The Cousin was unable to attend family Christmas. We were all very sad. It definitely was not the same without her family. But the show much go on so in tradition I went ahead with the cousin picture.

2013 will go down as the year The Cousin was unable to attend family Christmas, and I had to pose alone. All alone!

This weekend I have one more Christmas so stay tuned for more pictures.
