Dear Blogger World,

Please do not be mad. I'm not ignoring you. A real post is coming soon. Until then, I want everyone to enjoy the last bit of summer fruit. The past two weeks I've been on a peach kick. Every morning I've been slicing them in my oatmeal. I even tried putting peaches in my milkshake. It turned out awful. I had to chunk the milkshake. Don't mix peaches in your milkshake, fyi. But you know, peaches in a milkshake could work for you? Who am I to judge? The point of this worthless post is to remind you that summer is almost over, and pretty soon all the wonderful fruit will be only in LA and Florida. BUT, get excited because ice storms and snow storms are in the near future. It's almost as exciting at tornado season. I said almost.

Now that I have depressed everyone, have a wonderful night. I promise to never write a post at night again.

School Sticks

*SO, about the name of this post. I would change it to the correct title, School Stinks. However, I feel this proves how tired I was at 6am. Please ignore the current title, and just know I meant School Stinks. Ok, carry on...

Dear Blogger World,

I just wanted to apologize upfront for the upcoming months on this blog. The following topics will be seen on this blog very often.

* School
* How hard Finance is to an A.D.D girl
* My deep love for Starbucks- because that's all I'll be living off for a semester
* Lack of sleep
* The fact that I'm trying to train for a 1/2 marathon

I understand if you want to take a break from This is my world. No hard feelings. These aren't exciting post. However, when I'm sleep deprived and stressed, I'm pretty stinkin' funny.

A few weeks ago I said my life would become exciting. I lied. It will not become exciting, unless you count learning the difference between Present Value and Future Value exciting. Anyone?

On a more upbeat note, I did learn how to calculate interest/time on a mortgage loan. You want to feel depressed about your life, learn how to calculate your loan and realize you've practically paid nothing on your loan after a year. Good stuff!!!

Also, I did meet a friend. He's very cute and nice. Don't get excited. I'm a good 10 years older than him. I know, it made me sad too.

Ok, you have been warned. From here on out, read at your own risk.

OK Chick

First Day Jitters

This week I start back to school.

Last week I was excited about going for degree #3. But that was last week.

In no particular order these are my thoughts/fears about going back to school...

1. Will I meet friends?
I met some great people while I was getting my MBA. They were basically my only friends that year, and we were together all the time. If we weren't in class together, we were studying together.

2. If so, will they go with me to Starbucks?
While getting my MBA I had a Starbucks group. Two guys and myself would rush over to Starbucks, to grab our caffeinated drinks, during our first break. By the end of the year, we had the Starbucks run down to an art. Seriously, we could be there and back in five minutes.

3. Can I stay awake and alert until 10:30pm?
My class is from 7:30-10:30. I guess school days will be very long days. Yes I know, I'm a wimp!

4. Can I pass my Finance classes?

I don't have to tell you that #4 is really stressing me out, and I haven't even been to class. Very soon I shall find out if I can handle the classes. And as always, I will keep you up-to-date.

But here's to going back to school! The best part is buying school supplies!

Don't Judge-Update

Someone brought me a Sprinkles Cupcake.

It's sitting near me, looking at me.

Wouldn't you eat it now too?

Don't answer that question, it's rhetorical.

I'm trying to be a healthy good girl and wait until lunch.

Pray for me.

* Update: I made it to lunch with the cupcake. It was delicious. Someone brought me back a Chai Cupcake. Does this guy know me or what? And no, I will not date this someone.

What you missed this summer

Folks, summer is over. I don't care what the calendar says, it's over. School has started, notebook paper is on sale, and football has started. Summer is over. But before we welcome fall, let's look back at what I didn't blog about this summer, because sometimes there just isn't enough time to post everything.

My mom had a birthday
We celebrated at the Melting Pot. It was fun. No it really was. I know, my dad looks like he's bored to tears, but he's not.
Sister #1 went blond
I discovered a new candy store
They sale my favorite drink from Mexico. It's called Lift. It's basically an apple Coke. Greatest drink ever. Well greatest drink in Mexico, in my opinion.
More family came to visit
We decided to see if we could fit in a canoe. Mission accomplished.
Taste of Edmond
It was heaven. There was food from restaurants around town. We paid $7 to stuff ourselves for two hours. Please excuse Sister #1 mean/confused face. She wasn't mad or confused. My family can't take pictures.

I hope everyone had a great summer. Now it's time for football games, long sleeve shirts, and cool days.

Life as a Bachelorette

One busy weekday my wonderful friend KC emailed me to see if I wanted to come over to eat lasagna with her family, or if wanted to come by to pick up some leftover lasagna. I could decide which fit my schedule better.

A couple immediate thoughts:
Is this a trick question and who in their right mind would turn down KC's food?

After a great aerobics class I stopped by KC's to pick up my to-go order of homemade lasagana.

You know, sometimes you just can't beat a good weeknight.

A big thanks to KC! The lasagna was amazing! I ate all that she gave me, and she gave me a bunch. I'm one lucky girl to have such a great friend.

Wednesday

Please excuse the random absence in posts.

It wasn't you.

It wasn't even my good friend Bone with his month of Blogust.

Actually, there is no excuse. Well, besides me being busy at work, after work, and the extra minutes in between. But who likes excuses? No one, that's who.

So, I want to get everyone caught up on what you've missed, in my life, the past couple days.
1) Sister #2 has been staying with me.
We've had great bonding time. I introduced her to trashy reality TV. She's not a fan. How could you not love Rachel Zoe and Flipping Out? I'll give you Bachelor Pad and Housewives of DC, because those are kind of stupid but Rachel Zoe?
2) I streaked Saturday night.
It's kind of a summer tradition. Of course, this isn't your traditional streak. I'm always fully clothed, which you might consider not even streaking but it's called a streak. Saturday night, I ran The Midnight Streak. See, I told you it was called a streak. It's a fun race, a hot race, but a fun one.
3) Last time I blogged, I was attending a Mamma Mia Sing-Along.
Sister #1 and I went to the sing-along. We had a blast. We sang Abba with everyone, and laughed at the grandmas who danced. I'm for real. There were some grandmas that would put me to shame! I tried to capture the greatness with a picture, but my $30 phone does not have a top quality camera built in the phone.
4) I know there's something else I should tell you.....
5) Saturday, I saved over $20 (with coupons) at the grocery store.

Ok, so apparently there were only a few things you missed the past couple of days. I promise, soon and very soon my life will get exciting again.

Dancing Queen

Tonight, I'm going to a Mamma Mia Sing-Along. Did you know they had Sing-Alongs that don't include Disney films? They do.

By the way, is it Sing-Along or Sing-A-Long? I'm not for sure, I'll go with the first one since Wikipedia spells it that way.

As I was saying, tonight I will be visiting OKC Art Museum for the Mamma Mia Sing-Along. I'm expecting a very diverse crowd and maybe some neon spandex.

I will not be wearing spandex but I will be belting out Abba with the best of them.

Blogger World, Happy Thursday!

Here's to great 70s movies, music, and awesome spandex.

Looking for motivation

I hit a brick wall. Not literally. Figuratively speaking.

This morning I was very motivated and then BAM...the motivation left me. Now it's lunch, and I'm trying to call motivation back. I need him for this afternoon. Until motivation and I meet again, I thought I would share the pictures that are living on my desktop. After today, I'm kicking them out. They're going to the curb. No longer needed!

Ok, not really. I just emailed them to myself so I would have them on a different computer. ANYWAY, enjoy...

Happy Fall

This man and I have one thing in common. We are both cold.

No, I'm not sick. It's just unusually cold in my office. Ridiculously cold, in my opinion.

I'm wearing a fall outfit today. I'm done trying to be a summer fashion icon. I'm moving on to fall clothes. I don't care if it feels like 106 outside. It feels like 64 inside, and that's fall.

Blogger World, I'm declaring August 11th the first day of fall.

Food Tour De OKC-Part II

I hit up my second restaurant for Food Tour De OKC. Sit back and relax because I have a review for you...

Last week I went to Republic Gastropub. Nope I kid you not, that is the name of the establishment. I want to know who thought Gastropub needed to be added to the name? Doesn't it sound like a weird butt disease? Oh come on, I know you were thinking it too! Anyway, here's the review of the butt disease bar. I'm kidding....

Fellow Teammates:

I went to Republic with coworkers, and since I can't post their real pictures, let's pretend I work at Sesame Street. By the way, I'm Big Bird.

The Food:
Delicious. One thing you should know about Republic is it's a bar. They have hundreds of beers, from all over the world, and your typical bar food. But not typical bar food, expensive classy bar food. The menu is small, one page. Though small, it includes a nice variety. They have burgers, sandwiches, wings, and salads. I had the Turkey Burger, and it was worth every penny. My Turkey Burger was around $6, and it came with no sides. Sides are extra, $3 extra. I hate when places charge you for fries. If I order a burger, you should give me fries. Republic doesn't see it that way, but they do give you a nice list of sides to accompany your meal. I ordered the Apple Cerely Salad as my side, and it was SO good. By far my favorite side...ever! It's healthy and very tasty. I'm trying to figure out what was in this salad, because I want to make one right now. It's a great summer side for a hot day. Everyone at my table was very pleased with the food. The burger was one of the best I've had all summer. It was meaty, juicy, and had great flavor. I didn't feel like I was cheated out of good quality meat, and it tasted very fresh. Also, the bun isn't just a bun, it's a pretzel bun. It was my first time to try one, and I dig the pretzel buns.

Extra Kilometers:
The only thing I don't like is Republic is right now, it's a popular place so the wait is beyond ridiculous. My coworkers and I ate at 4:30 so we could miss the crowd. We'd tried to eat there another time, and the wait was 1.5 hr. Ridiculous. Also, you should be warned that Republic is where all the beautiful people eat. It's on the side of town where beautiful people work and live. I'm not saying that my Blogger Friends aren't beautiful, because you are very beautiful. I'm just saying if you are single, this might be a good place to look for a guy or girl. I did not look for a guy while I was there because I'd been outside for 3.5 hours, before arriving, and it was 100 degrees that day! Needless to say, I was looking hot.

Overall, I give Republic a solid 8.5.

The love keeps growing

Yesterday morning, I stopped by to see my favorite morning people. I ordered a nonfat Chai, like normal, and went on my merry way to work.

When I arrived to work, I discovered I had not received a nonfat Chai. They had given me a nonfat latte. YUCK! I do not drink coffee, at all! I can't even force myself to drink coffee. I was beyond bummed because I was looking forward to my drink.

But instead of sulking in my sorrow, I called my favorite morning people to let them know they had messed up. After explaining who I was, what I ordered, and reminding them that I stop by ALL the time. You know what they did? My favorite morning people said....OK Chick, please come by tomorrow and receive a free drink. SCORE!

This morning, I went by and what do you know??? They had a FREE drink waiting for me. Isn't that great? They also gave me a coupon for another free drink. You guys know how I feel about coupons and free stuff. LOVE THEM! Folks, now do you understand why these are my favorite morning people?

In other news, the phrase blowing up my phone means you received lots of calls/text messages. Your mission for the day, is to use the phrase once. Let me know how it works out.

Public Service Announcement

Blogger World, meet Ryan.

As I mentioned the other day, I went to Dallas for a girls trip. It was a great trip. We shopped, ate, relived old college tales, ate some more, and visited friends that now live in Dallas.

Ryan is one of those friends.

Ryan also had two single friends that hung out with us.

After thirty minutes of chatting with one of the friends I was about to declare Ryan my hero. One of the friends seemed great. He was cute, very funny, and had health insurance. But then things went downhill, because things always go downhill.

Ryan's Friend: This girl I'm talking to, is blowing up my phone tonight.
Me: What did you just say?
Ryan Friend's: The girl I'm kind of dating, is blowing up my phone.

Folks, I feel pretty strongly that only rappers and Ke$ha can get away with saying the phrase blowing up my phone. An average boy from Texas, cannot get away with saying the phrase. He just can't.

Guys, please listen to me. I want to help you. Under no circumstances should you ever say blowing up my phone. I believe this will help you greatly. Greatly.

Thank you for listening!

The Mother Cupcakes

This weekend I had a nice girls weekend in Dallas.

I know what you are thinking? Didn't you just return from Dallas? Yes I did.

I did back-to-back weekends in Dallas. I have never done a back-to-back weekends in Dallas. It was fun. It was carefree.

On this trip to Dallas one of my friends introduced me to Sprinkles. Do you know them? I didn't, but now we are BFF.

Blogger World, take a peek at my purchases from Sprinkles. Wait for it.......

Aren't they beautiful?

Yesterday, I ate the one on the left-Cinnamon and Sugar. I had been in the car for one hour before I tore open the box. I couldn't wait anymore. My friends, they waited. Not me.

Tonight, I will eat the chocolate sprinkles one. It's a peanut butter cupcake. I will get through today because I know this cupcake is waiting for me at home.

Some girls have loving husbands waiting for them at home. I have a delicious chocolate peanut butter cupcake, and I couldn't be more happy. It's the little things in life, or the sweet things in life.
