The struggle is real

Well, I've decided to continue with chemo. Actually, I didn't have an choice, but it's fun to pretend. Anyway, in other news.....

40 mph wind + wig= bad.

This morning, the wind was out of control!!! After walking into the office, I immediately had to go adjust my wig. After looking at myself in the mirror, I'm certain the wig almost blew off. It looked ridiculous!  Folks, this a struggle only a wig wearing woman from Oklahoma understands.

Chemo Dropout Part II

If you'll remember, the aftereffects of Spa Day #1 were not good. We ended up in the ER on Day 1 for a staple and IV. I mean, how much worse could it get??? Blogger World, I'm here to tell you it gets worse.

The aftereffects of Spa Day #2 were far worse. We started out strong, but then Day 4 (Sunday) hit me. On my word!!!      I was so nauseous I couldn't get out of bed. I laid in bed, on my back, all day/night.  I didn't move, eat, drink, talk, or do anything for over 24 hours. Oh wait I did move, but only to puke. Sunday's adventures knocked me down. It has taken me over two days to recover from Sunday Funday!!! Today, I finally feel somewhat decent; which feels great! But you know what? I'm a positive person so here are a few highlights from the weekend.

1. No ER visit!!!
2. Visitors- I had multiple visitors over the weekend, including my Furry Friends.
3. Lost a few unwanted pounds!

And that's about it...

So yeah, chemo sucks! Once again I ask, can I dropout of chemo?

Spa Day #2

Today, was my second Spa Day. It started out eventful, and then mellowed out. The eventful part of my day was early in the morning. I had to be at the cancer center very early to redo blood work. Monday, my blood count was 790, and I needed to be at 1500 to have chemo. Therefore, one of my awesome nurses allowed me another chance before she postponed my Spa Day. Praise Jesus, my blood count was up to 1500. I was beyond excited! I did not want to postpone my Spa Day!

The rest of the Spa Day went well. I sat in my recliner, worked from my laptop, and listened to my neighbor plan her funeral. No joke! I heard so many details about this funeral that I feel invited. You know, I can't judge. It takes a great deal of strengthen to plan your own funeral, and that is something I respect.

In true blogging fashion, I have a few pictures from Spa Day #2.

My dinner guest from Tuesday night made me these bracelets. I'm calling them my power bracelets.

Locked and loaded! Isn't the pink happy face bandage cheerful?

As you can see, today's head accessory was a beautiful croshay hat. My wonderful/loving/sweet neighbor gave me multiple hats she croshaid for me. The hat was very comfortable, and much cooler than the wig. You'll see me in more of her designs.

I have an entourage! My parents are my Spa Day partners, and during lunch The Sisters come visit us. I have the most amazing family. I couldn't have asked for a better family! I am beyond grateful for these people. Spa Day wouldn't be the same without them.

When we arrived home from Spa Day I noticed a package on my front porch. Three of my coworkers left me a basket full of goodies! The basket included items like...Chapstick, fruit, muffins, soup, socks, PJ pants, house shoes, puzzle books, and earrings. Their thoughtfulness brought me to tears! I can't think of a better way to end Spa Day #2!!!

This picture isn't from today, but last night Sister #1 and I attended a Thunder game. I wore my hat wig. What do you guys think?
It's a black baseball cap with dark brown hair. The hair comes to about my shoulders. Blogger World, the wig world is pretty cool. There are so many options, and they all look real!

Well, that about wraps up Spa Day #2. Now if you'll excuse me, it's my bed time. My parents are staying with me tonight. We are trying to eliminate another ER visit. Wish us luck!

Tuesday Night

Years ago, I took a big chance. I went skiing with Canada Travis and his friends.
I didn't know any of these people before the ski trip. I had to trust that Canada Travis had cool friends. Thank goodness he does; and now they're my friends too.

The ski trip allowed me to meet these great people...

Last night, this family came over for dinner and games. We ate tasty lasagna, played Old Maid, and played an intense game of kids Jenga. It was a great night. An evening full of laughter!!! The perfect distraction from my upcoming Spa Day.

I can't thank this family enough for spending their Tuesday evening with me.

#badass

Friday, I announced I was shaving my head! Well, today I'm here to report what happened over the weekend.

Let's start with Friday. After all my errands were ran, I planned to visit my local Supercuts for the head shaving. Folks, I'm here to tell you that saying you're going shave your head is way easier than actually shaving your head. I'm not going to lie, a few tears were shed before walking into Supercuts. However, God provided me with an angel at Supercuts. She sweetly suggested a pixie cut. Done!

I loved my cute pixie cut. It was easy to fix, made my face look skinny, and I felt sassy. It was a win.

But, all good things must come to an end. Sunday after church, I went back to Supercuts for the shave. This time no tears were shed. I was ready and it was time. I have not taken a picture of my #2 buzz shave. You can use your imagination. Although, it looks similar to this....

I'm not ready to be around people with no hair so I'm full wig/hat mode. Yesterday, was my first time to wear my fancy wig. It went well. Most people assumed I'd gotten a new haircut. Here's a picture of my new wig.

Overall, I did what needed to be done. I'm proud of myself. It's not easy to shave your head. Also, it's not easy to walk into work wearing a wig. All of these life events are making me one strong woman!!!

Hair Everywhere Crap

This week my hair started to fall out. Don't be sad for me. I knew this would happen. I'm prepared. I've already purchased two wigs, and a few hats. I'm good. Really, I'm cool. Ok...now that we've covered my emotional state, I can continue.

So, my hair loss is not at the point where large chunks are coming out. My scalp is not showing. In fact, if you looked at me you wouldn't know my hair was falling out. I look normal.

However, the past few mornings I've had to deal with my hair falling out.  We are not talking about one or two strains; it's a handful of hair. A handful of hair! Blogger World, seeing my hair all over the place makes me want to gag. It's so gross!! After three days of this hair everywhere crap, I'm over it. I cannot handle it anymore. I'm throwing in the towel. I think it might be time to shave it off today. It's time to start wearing the wigs!!!

Insta-lately

It's that time again. The time where I pretend this blog is my Instagram account. You guys love it. I love it. Everyone wins. Anyway, on to the pictures....

Sister #1 bought me a present. This will be perfect for next week's Spa Day. Thank you Sister #1.

Earlier this week, the below picture popped up on Time Hop. Two years ago, Canada Travis and I were on our way to China.

Cheerful flowers from dear friends. Flowers always make me feel better, especially yellow roses.

Today, Canada Travis sent me this picture of Tiny Tank. Seriously, what is wrong with this cat?

Sadly, that's all I have for today. Until next time!

Furry Friends

do love my Furry Friends. However, I only see them on the weekends. Thank goodness, Canada Travis sends me daily pictures.

Saturday, he sent me this picture:

Obviously, I was not supervising Tiny Tank. I would never let my baby rock climb on the fireplace without a helmet!

So you guys don't think I play favorites, here are the Postcard Puppies.

After Christmas I bought the puppies those comfortable beds. I guess the pups didn't love the beds. Eight hours later we found the beds chewed into a million pieces...in my backyard. I got the message loud and clear. You guys want to sleep on the cold hard floor. Done.

It's never a dull moment with my Furry Friends. Never.
