Leap Day

I would like to be the first to wish all the Leap Year Babies a Happy Birthday. If I knew a Leap Year Baby I would give them the best Birthday Blog Dedication ever. However, I do not know any Leap Year Babies. But I figured someone out in Blogger World was having a birthday so here's to you Leap Year Babies! I hope your birthday is a rockin' time...

Lonely No More

I feel that I should update you on my lunch partners. They are back today. However, I'm not eating with them. Nope, Guy #3 and I are going to lunch. Ha...take that lunch partners that left me high and dry for two days.

Guy #3 and I are taking a late lunch so again I am sitting here during lunch time by myself. Blogger World, you know what this means, right? Another worthless post.

Today's worthless post has to do with Michael Jackson. It's reported that MJ needs 24 million dollars to keep Neverland, and he needs the money STAT. I thought of a couple ideas to help MJ raise his money...

1. Garage Sale- who can't make a quick buck off a garage sale.
2. Plasma- when I was in college guys made date money off giving plasma. I'm sure the Plasma People would give MJ his money upfront.
3. Sale Mary Kay- MJ knows face! I bet he could all kinds of great advice.
4. Parenting Tips- he could offer advice on how kids can dress up like it's Halloween 365 days out of the year!
5. Become an aerobics instructor- I know Jazzercise is always looking for great instructors. We already use some of his songs. He could do mini-concerts while working out!

Good luck MJ!

Lonely Lunch- Day 2

Lunch partners are still MIA. Ok, so they are not really MIA. I know where they are today. However, I'm still alone during lunch. When I realized I was alone… again, I had two options. Option #1- I could go to the mall and shop, or Option #2- Run boring errands around town. I went for Option #3…eat at work. Blogger World, today I have been the model employee- I worked through my lunch. I know! Slap on a gold star for me! Editors Note: When I say "worked through lunch" you know I mean working and eating at the same time, right? I love my job, but I'm not going to go hungry for my job.

So this model employee had a very healthy lunch. I dined on a lovely Thai Chicken prepared by the fabulous chefs of Lean Cuisine. You might have heard of them…they’re famous. It was wonderful, and it only had 4 grams of fat. I was so proud of myself. I worked during lunch, enjoyed a nice lunch, and I was healthy. Oh wait; I forgot to mention the 5 Girl Scout Cookies I had after my Lean Cuisine because I was still hungry! Who is Lean Cuisine kidding? Who in their right mind can eat one of those dainty meals and be full? I had to eat something else. It was life or death. All I had in my office was GS Cookies. I wasn’t necessarily aiming to eat 5 cookies, but once you start you can’t stop. Dang you Girl Scouts, you ruined my healthy lunch.
Editors Note: I heart the GS!

** Everyone should pray that my lunch partners return tomorrow, otherwise you are going to get another worthless post.

Top 5 Romantic Movies

Today, my lunch partners were MIA so I had to entertain myself during lunch. I decided to get caught up with my friends, or the random people I don’t know in Blogger World. One of the blogs I stumbled onto had a list of the top five romantic movies of all time. Here’s the list:
5. Sleepless in Seattle

4. Pretty Woman

3. Jerry McGuire

2. The Notebook

1. Titanic

These movies are ok but they’re not the top 5 of all time quality. Whatever-Titanic! The boat sunk. Alright,The Notebook is ok, but it’s sad. I don’t like sad movies. I’m more of a happy, fun, romantic; everyone loves each other type of movie. I mean, in two of these movies the main characters die. This is not happy!
So what do I do when I don’t agree with someone’s list? I make my own. Here’s my top 5 romantic movies. Love it, hate it…whatever.

5. Chasing Liberty - I would love for a hot secret service guy to fall in love me while we were in Europe.

4. Sabrina-It’s Harrison Ford. I think it's cute that he likes her but he doesn't really know what to do. So cute.

3. Sixteen Candles- He remembers her birthday when no else does. Also, she gets to eat cake while sitting on her dinning room table.

2. When Harry Met Sally- I’m a fan of this movie because it’s how dating is in real life. I mean come on...how many of us have had a hot secret service guy fall in love with us while in Europe? Come on, let me see the hands. Yea, that's what I thought.

And #1 . . . Drumroll please . . .

1. You've Got Mail. This is my favorite movie "Don't cry, Shopgirl " Sigh! The scene where she's sick in bed and he comes to see her and brings her daisies. So sweet! "One hundred and fifty-two insights to my soul . . ." Someday I’m going to use that line on someone.

Daily Funny

This morning, while driving to work, I heard this bit of Hollywood gossip...

Prince is scheduled to have hip surgery in the near future.

At first I laughed, but then I got sad because it made me realize I'm getting old.

Just another day in my house....

Today, Sister #1 and I are home sick. We're both dying of different illness. She has the stomach crud and I have the hacking crud. We make quite the pair today. Anyway, since we are home sick we've been watching random TV shows. Right now we're watching Martha Stewart. Blogger World, I would like to share a conversation between Sister #1 and myself.

Me: Martha Stewart is kind of mean. She's up there with Barefoot Contessa (I don't know how to spell her name I'm sick). I would be scared to cook with either one.

Sister #1: Yea, Martha's been to jail. She's not afraid to pop cap.

Me: Sister #1, she's not going to pop a cap in anyone.

I'm going to blame the sickness on this conversation, but it was really funny when it took place.

Daily kick in the butt...

If you run 100 miles a week, you can eat anything you want-Why? Because (a) you'll burn all the calories you consume, (b) you deserve it, and you'll be injured soon and back on a restricted diet anyway.

Happy Birthday Bone...

Today’s Birthday Blog Dedication goes out to my Blogger Boyfriend, Bone. Bone and I have been Blogger boyfriend and girlfriend for about four years, which qualifies him as my longest relationship…ever. Although, Bone and I do not act like Blogger Boyfriend and Girlfriend we do enjoy each other’s blogs. Due to Bone surviving 34 years on this planet, I thought I would help start off year number 35 with a bang. I feel that a tribute would do just the trick.

If you have never read Bone’s Blog, you really should. He’s a fabulous writer! Not only is his writing entertaining to read, he’s also an informative writer. Here are just a few of my favorite things I’ve learned from Bone….

1. A random assortment of songs. Bone ends every post with a quote from a song.
2. Male Restroom Etiquette. I had NO idea there were so many rules for the men’s restroom!
3. General Hospital. I do not watch this soap opera but Bone is a huge fan. He updates his readers on what is plotting on GH.
4. Who’s out in Blogger World. Bone has introduced me to other great writers like…. GiggleChick, Kyle, J-Mo, and my newest blogger friend TC.
5. Seinfeld. Bone loves Seinfeld. I mean the boy hearts the show. Seinfeld is actually is what brought Bone and I together. He used to post Seinfeld Trivia questions on his blog, and one lonely afternoon I answered the daily question correct. It was love at first answer. AHHHH…
6. Running Info. When I was training for my half marathon Bone was my inspiration to keep running. He would update me on his running, which would make me run farther.
7. Basketball Stats. Bone was the first to post stats on his blog. This is very handy when March Madness rolls around.
8. Beach Information. Bone is a fan of going to Florida’s finest beaches. Due to his residents being in AL he frequents the beach more often then myself. I can always count on Bone to pass along great advice for beach trips.

As you can see Bone is a very special Blogger. He is always coming up with creative ways to relate to his entourage of readers. Yes, Bone has a Blog Entourage. Seriously, I’m not joking. SO Bone, Blogger Boyfriend here’s to you- Happy Birthday!

12K Challenge

If, through the generosity of others, the Lord had entrusted you with $12,000 to further the Kingdom, how would you use it?

This question was brought to my attention last week. I guess I’ve never really thought about this scenario because I have never planned on receiving $12,000. I mean, what are the odds that 12K is going to drop from the heavens and land in my mailbox?
But for the sake of thought, pretend that you were given $12,000. What would you do with the money? Who would you help? Would you help anyone out? All these things have been going through my head, and sadly I still have no answers. I am clueless on what I would do with all the money. I know one organization that would receive a portion of the money, like American Cancer Society. However, $12,000 is a large sum of money, and it could be used to help so many people or projects. So Blogger World, what would you do with the money?

My Blogger Friend, Ann, has set up a 12K Challenge for everyone and anyone. I think this is a grand idea. If you would like to participate or read about the Challenge…visit Ann’s Blog. I have added Ann’s Blog to my list of Blogs. I encourage you to read about this Challenge. I think it would be amazing to see what can happen when people from all over the world participate in this 12K Challenge.

Weekend Update

So I’m sitting here, bored. I’m talking bored out of my mind. Everyone has left due to the illness/crud that is going around. Of course, I’m healthy as a horse and have the privilege to keep working. Yea, nothing is going to get through this immune system! Due to the lack of work or motivation to work I thought today would be a great day to post. I usually have a few ideas floating around in my head but I currently have nothing. I know, what the crap. I always have stuff to say. I’m a talking/posting fool! I guess this only leaves me with one option…Weekend Updates. I know you’re dying to know what I did this weekend.

Friday
Date with Guy #3. Yes, another date. I believe we’re on date number 20. I’m totally kidding. You haven’t missed out on that many dates. I think it was like 4 or 5. But it was a fun evening of dinner and music. You really can’t go wrong with those two things. I have stressed on this blog my love for food, so feeding me is always bonus points.

Saturday
Oh Saturday was my big race. I ran 5 miles Saturday morning. GO ME!!! Ok, I didn’t run the whole five miles. I had to stop and walk once. There was a really big hill. I mean monstrous hill. It was basically a mountain. When I came to the mountain I knew I had two options. I could walk the hill and run the rest of the race; or run the hill and walk the rest of the race. I decided to walk the hill. I believe it turned out to be a good move on my part, because look at this hill…
I finished the race in 55 minutes.

After the race I rushed home for brunch. Sister #1 made brunch for a few cool people and myself. I was just invited because I live there. But it was a great time. Sister #1 knocked herself out. We had egg casserole, muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt dip, and two different juices. It was the best meal after a five-mile race.

Then after I stuffed myself with Brunch Guy #3 and I went to the movies. We went to see Fools Gold. It’s not good, but we cannot tell Guy #3. I made him go see the movie. So if you talk to Guy #3, it was the greatest movie ever. We’re talking Oscar. But Blogger World, save your money. It is true that my boy Matthew has his shirt off most of the movie, but I don’t know if that’s worth $9.00. Although, it might be worth $9.00 to you…I’ll let you make that call.

And finally, my last event for Saturday was a concert. I went to a benefit concert for a great project here in OKC. It was hosted in a fancy Japanese restaurant where they gave us free appetizers, wine, and cheese. How could free food be bad? It can’t.

Sunday
Rest. Oh wait something did happen on Sunday, I went grocery shopping.

God Bless the Girl Scouts!

You know it's going to be a good day when this is the first thing you see when walking into your office:

This morning someone left a box of cookies on my desk. It was a great surpise. I LOVE cookies, and GS have the best. Yea for surprises and yea for Girl Scout Cookies!

Ramblings...

The day after the Super Bowl seems like a perfect day for some Ramblings. I believe companies should make this day a holiday. I mean really, who works the day after the Super Bowl? I’m really asking. Please raise your hand if you’ve put in a full 8 hours at work today? Yup, that’s what I thought…no one! Anyway, on to the Ramblings…

YOY update. This topic seems to be a popular topic on my blog. I didn’t realize it would draw in so many comments. But sadly, it’s the only interesting thing going on in OKChick’s life. As of right now Guy #1 and Guy #2 have been no shows. I’m pretty sure we should just write off Guy #1 and Guy #2.
Guy #1 is currently dating someone. I KNOW! He asked me out like 4 weeks ago. Who meets someone in 4 weeks? And if you’re of those people that can meet someone and start dating in 4 weeks, you make me sick! Anyway, I was at the mall last weekend and I caught Guy #1 holding hands with new girl. It was shocking. I was literally speechless. At the time of seeing Guy # and New Girl holding hands, I was in the middle of telling a story to my friends. When the new couple walked pasted me, I stopped mid-sentence to stare at them. It’s only been 4 weeks, maybe even 3 weeks! Guy #1 is OUT!
Guy #2 has decided to become a missionary in Brazil. No, I’m not kidding. This is the second guy that has fled the country after hanging out with me. Again, I’m not kidding. Guy #2 is OUT!

Last nights halftime show was the best I’ve ever seen. Tom Petty is still cool.

Blogger World, I highly recommend that you try Crystal Light On the Go White Tea/Blueberry. It’s so good. I’ve been drinking it for the past week at lunch. The little packet only has 10 calories. 10 calories! My gum has more calories than that! Try it. I’m certain you’ll love it.

I’m running a race this weekend. The race is 5 miles. I’m going to be honest with you guys; I can’t run 5 miles. I could probably run 5 miles in a span of two days, but I can’t do 5 miles in one setting. I guess like all my races, this race should be interesting. Also, like what I say before all races, if you do not hear from me on Monday please send a search group. Thank you.

My cousin just sent me this email:
So, I just found the best website ever!! It is bored.com. Anyway, I just did a MASH thing and here is my future. I am going to marry David Beckham, drive a blue porsche, have 5 kids (I already have one and he already has 3 so then just one together), live in a house and be a housewife in OKC. Exciting!! You can come visit us!! I know it is a little farfetched. I mean, really like David Beckham would live in a house and not the mansion!!

Ok, I have one more food suggestion and I’m done for the day. I’m sorry. I like food! I can’t stress this enough to you guys. Anyway, have you tried the Fiber One Bars? They are so good! I’m currently snacking on one.

Well I'm done Rambling. I think I'm going to finish my Fiber One Bar and call it a day. Have a wonderful February 4-National Stuffed Mushroom Day. Yes, today is National Stuffed Mushroom Day. I bet you didn't know that? Who says you don't learn anything from reading my blog!

Happy Birthday Tonya...

Once again one of my dear friends has had a birthday. Yesterday the world celebrated Tonya’s birthday. I’m so sad I could not post her dedication on her actually birthday. Tonya, my deepest apologizes. If it makes you feel any better, no one has received their dedications on their actually birthday. Shoot, Sister #1 is still waiting on her dedication and birthday was in November.

I felt a Top Ten List is in order for Tonya’s birthday. Why? I don’t know. But this is my first Top Ten Birthday List. I think the different format suits Tonya nicely.

10. FUNNY! I know that I say that all my friends are funny, but Tonya is hilarious. I can’t say this enough, God blessed me with funny friends.

9. Great travel friend. If you remember, Tonya accompanied me on SCT #4 to NYC. Tonya, Suzy, and I had so much fun in NYC. Tonya and Suzy were so kind when I kept dragging them into an H&M. I think I made them shop 5 times in H&M. They were so nice, they never complained. Also, Tonya never complained when we made her go see Color Purple by myself.

8. Role Model. Tonya has been a great Christian role model for me in my young hip single life. She’s handled all of life’s ups and downs with grace.

7. It’s ok to sit at home. Tonya taught me that it’s ok to sit at home on a Friday night; and you know I practice this very often.

6. She’s a Razorback fan!

5. Tonya loves my family. Anyone that can put up with my family gets a gold star in my book. I’m kidding, I love my family with all my heart. But Tonya and my dad have an odd relationship. No, not odd like that! Good grief, my dad is a happily married man. But my dad and Tonya are big buds. I believe he won her heart when he gave her flowers. I believe this year Stacey is up for the Relay flowers.

4. Honest. Tonya is honest. She’ll tell you what she thinks, when she’s thinking the thought. I like honesty.

3. She has famous friends. I have been with Tonya when she’s met famous people; and they love her! When we were in NYC she met Al. Then after she met Al, she introduced us to her new friend Ann. Here’s a picture of us with Ann. (Tonya, you know I love you b/c this is a crappy picture of myself).
2. Heart of Gold. Tonya has the biggest heart. She always has a kind word to say to her friends. When I had mono and felt like crap, Tonya was always so nice to me.

AND #1 ….

1. Willing to be friends with me. If you can put up with me during my college and single years, you are kick A person!!!!

So Tonya, here's to you. I hope your birthday was a great one!!!
