Food Tour De OKC-Part II

I hit up my second restaurant for Food Tour De OKC. Sit back and relax because I have a review for you...

Last week I went to Republic Gastropub. Nope I kid you not, that is the name of the establishment. I want to know who thought Gastropub needed to be added to the name? Doesn't it sound like a weird butt disease? Oh come on, I know you were thinking it too! Anyway, here's the review of the butt disease bar. I'm kidding....

Fellow Teammates:

I went to Republic with coworkers, and since I can't post their real pictures, let's pretend I work at Sesame Street. By the way, I'm Big Bird.

The Food:
Delicious. One thing you should know about Republic is it's a bar. They have hundreds of beers, from all over the world, and your typical bar food. But not typical bar food, expensive classy bar food. The menu is small, one page. Though small, it includes a nice variety. They have burgers, sandwiches, wings, and salads. I had the Turkey Burger, and it was worth every penny. My Turkey Burger was around $6, and it came with no sides. Sides are extra, $3 extra. I hate when places charge you for fries. If I order a burger, you should give me fries. Republic doesn't see it that way, but they do give you a nice list of sides to accompany your meal. I ordered the Apple Cerely Salad as my side, and it was SO good. By far my favorite side...ever! It's healthy and very tasty. I'm trying to figure out what was in this salad, because I want to make one right now. It's a great summer side for a hot day. Everyone at my table was very pleased with the food. The burger was one of the best I've had all summer. It was meaty, juicy, and had great flavor. I didn't feel like I was cheated out of good quality meat, and it tasted very fresh. Also, the bun isn't just a bun, it's a pretzel bun. It was my first time to try one, and I dig the pretzel buns.

Extra Kilometers:
The only thing I don't like is Republic is right now, it's a popular place so the wait is beyond ridiculous. My coworkers and I ate at 4:30 so we could miss the crowd. We'd tried to eat there another time, and the wait was 1.5 hr. Ridiculous. Also, you should be warned that Republic is where all the beautiful people eat. It's on the side of town where beautiful people work and live. I'm not saying that my Blogger Friends aren't beautiful, because you are very beautiful. I'm just saying if you are single, this might be a good place to look for a guy or girl. I did not look for a guy while I was there because I'd been outside for 3.5 hours, before arriving, and it was 100 degrees that day! Needless to say, I was looking hot.

Overall, I give Republic a solid 8.5.

I went there a few weeks ago, and wasn't thrilled with the taste of the food. I got mac and cheese with sausage as my side and it was no bueno. :( But super cool atmosphere. I'd love to watch a sporting event there.

It's always fun to find delicious bar food. Usually it's just food and nothing more.

I love that you used Sesame Street to represent you; I often find myself feeling like big bird as well. Glad to hear you had a great weekend!

I find Cookie Monster to be proportionally too large in that picture.

Also, you've inspired me. While you do restaurant reviews, I think I will begin doing public restroom reviews.

Ann- I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your food. I almost ordered the Mac and Cheese, but I'm happy I didn't.
You're right, it would be fun to watch a sporting event there.

Bone- What I inspired you! I'm honored.

Waughs- I'm happy to help with your eating out needs. :)

I do not belong at Republic.

Oh sure you could. TC, you are beautiful. By the way, the company that hires beautiful is always hiring new folks. You know, if you ever decide you want a job in this great state.
