What year?

Today I bring you a bit of trivia. I feel that it is important that my readers know everything about the TV world-new and old. Today’s trivia is a bit of old TV news. September 30 marks the anniversary of Cheer’s series premier. WITHOUT using Google, What year did our favorite Boston bar hit TVs around the US? And like all my random contest imaginary high five will be given as the prize. Again the question is…What year did our favorite Boston bar hit TVs around the US?

On a completely different note, I just ate a Panera Bread Grilled Breakfast Sandwich. It was so good! I highly recommend this unhealthy breakfast sandwiches.

Again on a completely different note a really good looking guy just entered my office. I mean not my actually office, because let’s face it, I wouldn’t be typing this post if a gorgeous man was sitting in my office. But, he did just walk past my office. I'm sure I looked attractive stuffing my face with a breakfast sandwich. Actually, I think he’s the supplier of the wonderful unhealthy breakfast sandwiches. Oh there he is again, he just walked by my office. Folks, I must do more investigating on this man. Please excuse me while I turn into Penny from Inspector Gadget.

Friday Fun Fact

Just when I have you all fooled that Okies are completely normal, I hear this bit of information. In Enid, Oklahoma they have declared today- Friday, September 26, 2008, as National Mullet Day. I only wish I was making this up!

In case someone was born yesterday, a mullet is a hairstyle that is short in the front, top, and sides, but long in the back. This hairstyle was mostly popular from the early 1970s to the early 1990s; however, some are still sporting the outdated look. You can find the mullet roaming State Fairs and NASCAR events. Here is a good picture of a mullet. By the way, this is not my family, or anyone from my family, or anyone I even know.
I would like to be the first, and probably the only person to wish you a Happy Mullet Day! Seriously, what would you guys do without my Friday Fun Facts?

Being strong

I like to call Thursday night, Good TV Night. All week I look forward to Thursday nights. Grey’s Anatomy, CSI, Survivor, Without a Trace, and Ugly Betty, what’s not to love? I love all these shows! LOVE THEM! I mean, what other night are you trying to juggle three TV channels at the same time? I suppose some, if not everyone, has invested in TiVo and solved that problem. I am not there yet. Heck, I don’t even have cable. Hey, don’t judge. All the money you spend on cable, I spend on vacations to NYC, Europe, and Hawaii. See, there’s a method to my madness.

Anyway, Thursday equals Good TV Night. Yet, tonight I am skipping Good TV Night. Rare, I know. No, I’m not sick. NO, I don’t have a date. Will you let me explain?

A couple weeks ago I noticed one of the major TV networks was promoting National Stay at Home Week. For some reason this rubbed me the wrong way. I think I hated being told I should stay home for an entire week just to watch TV; or maybe it was because I felt like they wanted everyone to become a couch potato. I know, they are not promoting being a couch potato.
But you see, with a country that is constantly discussing obesity among children and the amount of time children spend in front of the TV; shouldn’t we be promoting something else, maybe National Turn Off Your TV? Why doesn’t this network encourage families to eat dinner together, or go outside to enjoy the great fall weather?

As a TV junky, I think the world might be a better place if we turned off the TV and ventured outside our houses. So tonight I will not be staying home to watchTV. Instead, I’m going to a high school football game with my family.

Weekend Updates

Blogger World, its Tuesday. Another weekend has come and gone, which means it’s time for my Weekend Updates. I tried to think of something witty and cleaver for my opening paragraph, but I got nothing. Call it lack of creativity juices this morning. I guess I’ll just jump into the Weekend Updates.

Friday
Friday night was a relaxing evening. By the time Friday rolled around I was pretty worn out, but my plans were prefect for the way I was feeling. I spent my Friday evening drinking orange tea and catching up with a friend. You know, it’s nice to just sit down and have a catch up secession. This friend and I have seen each other around town, but never had the chance to just sit down to talk. Sadly, I was so tired I might have been worthless. But I think we both had fun. Who knows, maybe it will become a monthly thing.

Saturday
Saturday started off right. Every year my church host Day in the City. This is a chance for church members to go out into the city and participate in improving our community appearance while showing God’s love. My first time to participate in Day in the City turned out great! I had a blast. My friend Jessica and I joined another Singles Class in some heavy duty yard work for a Maternity Home. Man, after three hours of pulling weeds, picking up limbs, trimming bushing, and eating two pigs in a blanket I was beat! It was hard work. After Jessica and I were done with our work we left to go eat lunch. I was so tired I could barely eat my salad. Needless to say, when I got home from Day in the City I took a two hour nap.
Saturday night I had an excellent dinner with some college/post college friends. Big thanks for Holly inviting us over for dinner. Again, it was nice to sit down for dinner and catch up with old friends.

Sunday
Sunday was normal- church, read the paper, and cut out coupons. You know, I wish I was making up my Sunday route but I’m not. But I did watch a horrible movie after I read the paper. I do not recommend Third Wish. HORRIBLE! Sister #1 said it best…you usually don’t pick out bad movies but crap Ok Chick that was horrible. Please just take my advice and don’t waste your money on the flick.
Saturday night Sister #1 and I went to Hometown, USA to attend my parents and Sister #2’s block party. I love block parties! My parents have the coolest neighbors and I always enjoy seeing them. Mostly, because they tell me how good I look. Hey, who doesn’t like a good compliment? One neighbor of my parent’s recently lost some weight and looks awesome. When Sister #1 and I asked how she lost weight she replied…well, I just don’t eat. She went on to inform us that a week ago she had a small whole wheat snicker doodle cookie and gained three pounds, which made us laugh so hard. She said after the cookie weight gain she just stopped eating. Of course she was kidding, but she did cut back on her carbs. I could never give up carbs so I will not be going that route.

So that’s my weekend in a nutshell. I guess it was a pretty relaxed weekend. But I would like to leave you with this….today is International Very Good Looking Damn Smart Women’s Day. Please go celebrate!

Gone fishing

Sister #1 and I are frequently asked why we are still single. People are always offering free advice to us on our dating lives. Case in point, Sister #1’s sixty-year old coworker. He recently told her about the website Plenty of Fish. Of course, we had to get on the website to check out all the fish in the sea. We needed to go fishing. Sadly, this is what we caught...

any girl want to hang out hola at me
easy going guy, good looking, love sports, very active, horoscope-scorpio. I 'd love to meet a nice girl, and good looking, with sense of humor. Interests similar to mine, to love movies, and sports.
I’m not for sure if he’s saying hello in Spanish or “hollar” at me. I’m not even for sure how to spell “hollar”, I prefer speaking in proper English. Granted it is not English at it’s finest, but you get I’m saying.

Looking for something beautiful
I feel as though at this point in my life I have so much to give and no one to share it with. I am loyal to the core and bring a smile to peoples faces.
What the crap does loyal to the core mean?

Ugly mexican seeking fun I guess
I am 6ft 2in mexican/american, shaved head, golden brown skin, mustach, brown eyes, tongue ring and 11 tattoo's. I was married but wife died in 2004 in a car crash. I have 2 kids which i love to death.
At least he’s honest.

here and gone again
Hello , Looking For a girl With a Killer Smile and about yay Tall....and if you are hung up on your X or something like that don't talk to me........
This one made Sister #1 and I laugh. As Sister #1 said…AMEN!

looking for honest woman
looking for honest woman
looking for honest woman
looking for honest woman
looking for honest woman
looking for honest woman
looking for honest woman
looking for an honest man, looking for an honest man, looking for an honest man.

hey you...ya you! *smile* let's chat :)
I am a single guy seeking a woman who is friendly, fun, honest and attractive. I prefer to get to know each other through conversation instead of an autobiography. But, I will say that I am adventurous.
Oh look out he’s adventurous! Ok all kidding aside, this one doesn’t sound sooo bad.

It takes a big ol' sack of flour..."It takes a big ol' sack of flour to make a big ol' pan of biscuits!" -Me.
WHAT! Does he want to make biscuits? Is he telling me he likes biscuits? Is it a prerequisite that I know how to make biscuits? I don’t get it.

Just looking
Single for about 6 months now and have not had time to hit the singles scene. Plus I hate trying to meet people in bars! (Even though I met my last girlfried in one) Looking for someone to have fun.
If you talk about your ex on a singles website, then you are obviously not over her!

I'm I looking 4 you whats up?
Besides not making sense, we liked this one because it is short and sweet. Who am I to judge on grammar. Anyway, he asked himself if he’s looking for you, then he’s nice enough to ask how you are doing. He seems to have manners.

are we rolling the same direction?
I'm the bomb.com........love to laugh...take life as it comes. i shave my head as well as other areas, i have aqua blue eyes, i work out 2 times a week and do cardio everyday.
I do not even know where to start on this one. Are we rolling in the same direction? He’s the bomb.com. Does he reliaze that NO ONE since 1992 has used that phrase. The bomb.com? I’m going to say that no one is rolling in his direction. HAHA! OK, that was lame, sorry. But at least I didn’t call myself THE BOMB.COM!

STOP!!! Your search has ended
Take one giant scoop of fun, blend it with the type of humor that is goofy but hilarious, add one big heaping spoonful of sugar for the sweetness that is me and you've got me...Zebo!!!
This one is kind of cute. It’s creative, sweet, and semi-funny. It made Sister #1 and I laugh.

I guess the saying is true...there are plenty of fish in the sea. However, Sister #1 and I threw all our fish back. I guess we can hope for a better breed of fish next time.

Friday Fun Fact

Today, Friday September 19, is Talk like a Pirate Day. For the remainder of the day, I encourage everyone to start talking like a Pirate. If you can't talk like one, then dress the part. Who knows maybe you'll end up with this guy...
