Dogs are cute but cats are better and a lot less destructive when left home alone.
For some reason dogs seem to think that every time you walk out the door it's the last time they'll ever see you and "Ooooh! Oooh! Oohoh! He's gone! He's gone and left me and I'll never see him again! Oooh! oOooOoOooh! Oh? He's...back? HE'S BACK! HE'S BACK! OMG! I AM SOOOOO HAPPY TO SEE YOU! DO YOU KNOW HOW HAPPY I AM? I'M SO HAPPY, I'M GOING TO WEE ON THE FLOOR IN HAPPINESS! And...Oh. Oops. That...that was your shoe, wasn't it? Sorry about that, but...I thought you were gone forever and never coming back and...and...and...oh dear. I peed again. Sorry."

Cats, on the other hand, are more like:
"I'm sorry? You're what now? You're back? What do you mean 'you're back'? You mean you actually went out? Yeah, I did notice it was a little quieter than usual, but I thought you were just being considerate so I could catch up on my sleep. So you actually went out? Yeah, I...guess I missed you...I guess. So...dinner. What did you get me?"
You know, now that I think about it...cats aren't that much better.

LOL @ Cap'n John...but not all dogs are like that. They can be trained to not pee or poop in your house.
But I do understand the desire to not have to deal with a pet.
On the other hand the cuteness and love win out over the clean house for me.

Cap' n John- Your comment made me laugh. It really did sound like a dog and cat. HA! I just can't do cats. First, I'm highly allegoric. Second, they drive me nuts.

That is the kind of dog we are after for Kadence. She wants one for her 5th b-day.
My sister's dog's name is Pepper! Hopefully, things don't get confusing.
There's nothing like a good dog. When I grow up I want to have a good dog and a couple of bunnies. So basically I guess my dream is to grow up to be like Renee.
