What a difference 4 years makes....

My second favorite trip was when I went to the Winter Olympics. If you remember, the last Winter Olympics was held in Italy. I'd never been to Europe so four friends and I decided we needed to make the trip. We ended up spending nine days in Europe. We flew to Rome and flew out of Paris. Along the way, we visited Switzerland, Vienna, and some other place in Austria. Sorry, the places kind of run together. It was a busy nine days, but the trip was amazing. We spent one day at the Olympics, and we watched Men's Curling. No, we really watched Curling. It was the only event that didn't leave us broke and we were able to watch USA.

On the way home from Europe, my friends and I made a pack that no matter where we were, what we were doing with our lives... we were going to Canada for the Winter Olympics. Now, it would be awesome if I could tell you that my friends and I are going to Canada for the Olympics. But I can't. You see, ALL of my friends decided to get married in these past 4 years. Here's the breakdown....Hopefully, you can read this. If not, I'm sorry I'm not re-doing this picture. Anyway, as you can see...Jay and Julie married each other. Jason married my old roommate, and Holly married a great guy this summer. So all that's left is me...and I'm pissed. I want to go to Canada. Dang my stupid friends, I wanted to use my passport this year!!!! Ok, I'm kidding. I'm happy for all my friends. They all have great spouses, and I am friends with all of them. True, it would have been neat to go to Canada, but I can't complain. I went to the last Winter Olympics. If anything, I'm thankful that my first visit to Europe was with these people and to the Winter Olympics.

I think you can at least be grateful that Jason & Holly didn't marry each other... that would have been really depressing in my opinion.

Hugs! Perhaps you can round up a new batch of buddies and go to the next olympics...perhaps a hubby.

My friend and I were recently discussing about how involved with technology our daily lives have become. Reading this post makes me think back to that debate we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as technology further develops, the possibility of copying our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I daydream about every once in a while.

Oh man, this reminds me of a road trip to Atlanta about ten years ago.

There were like nine people altogether. All of them are married now except for me, two of them married each other.

What is up with us?

Aw Lindsy, sorry I went and ruined things by getting married! I will still travel with you sometime!

You, Bone and I should have gone to the Olympics this year. I've never been and want to go.

Plus, I mean, all the cool reject kids should stick together, right?

(Two of my closest friends are getting married in August; I'm literally running out of single friends, even the ones living in other states/countries!!!!)
