Hero of the Day

Give it up for today's Hero of the Day....Captain Gerhard Bradner

Monday night, passengers aboard a stranded Frontier Airlines flight were treated to an impromptu pizza party  after the pilot Captain Gerhard Bradner bought more than 30 pizzas, on his own dime, for passengers.  The world could use a few more people like Captain Gerhard Bradner!

Summer TV

Blogger World, do you remember when there was NOTHING on TV during the summer?

It kind of sucked!

I know, summer means longer days and I need to be outside enjoying the fresh air.
BUT...summers are freakin' hot here in Oklahoma! Once I get home from Jazzercise I'm pretty much done for the evening. The heat wears you out.

Therefore, I watch summer TV shows. This year I have a full lineup.
SOOO here's what I'm watching during summer.

Garden Update and Pancakes

Last night I picked a few things from the garden.

I'm so happy that my little garden is doing so well.  Each night I go out to pick a few things.

This year I'm making a conscious effort not waste a single veggie. Last year a few things were tossed because I couldn't eat them fast enough; but this year I'll be freezing more vegetables.

If anyone has any great recipes that use bell peppers, banana peppers, and tomatoes please share!

In other news....

Today, you can visit IHop for $0.56 pancakes.
You can't beat $0.56 pancakes!!!

Weekend Update

Blogger World, do you know what's great?
A three day weekend!

There's nothing better than an extended weekend. In my opinion, every weekend should be a three day weekend. The world would be a better place!

This weekend was full of fun things.

Fourth of July Parade
I was in a parade with Canada Travis's family.
We drove old cars and threw candy to all our adoring fans!
We had a lot of fans.

Fireworks with the Family
My family had a festive meal and shot lots of fireworks.

Racing Fun and more Fireworks!
Saturday night, I introduced my family to the car racing world.
They loved it!
After cheering on Canada Travis we watched more fireworks.
Folks, no one does fireworks like Lawton Speedway.

After all that fun, the only way to end the weekend was to relax with a movie...

Weekend Update

Folks, I had one heck of a weekend. It was full of family time, ice cream, chores, Jazzercise, and house cleaning. It was a good weekend. I was productive, but still had fun.

Since I'm trying to be a better blogger, I snapped a few pictures during the weekend. I hope everyone else had a good weekend as well.

Friday Night
The Sisters and I participated in our June 5K. OKC's running community is growing by the year. Friday night's run had over 600 people participating. I love seeing all the runners!
Our parents were kind enough to cheer us on as we ran. They like watching us run. Well, I don't know if they truly like watching us run, but they come watch and take us for ice cream afterwards.

Saturday
My dear friends in Houston are expecting their first child. Saturday they were in town to have a special party, Revealing Party. It's a party to announce the gender of the baby. I'm happy to report my Houston friends will be having a girl. They are tickled pink. HA!

Saturday Night
The whole family, along with a few great friends, headed to the Oklahoma River to watch Sister #1 in her rowing competition. Blogger World, did you know OKC is a big deal in the rowing scene?  It's true! Many rowers come to OKC to train for the Olympics. Also, many companies in the metro area have rowing teams. A couple times a year, these corporate teams have all day events to compete against one another.
Sister #1's team took 3rd place.

After a jammed packed weekend, Sunday was spent resting. I was tired!
