What is garden party like attire?

All of these people look beautiful! This is how I envision everyone dresses in the Hampton's. However, aren't these outfits a bit summerish? I realize it's still 95 degrees outside, but Saturday it will be September 5th. Blogger World, what does one wear to a garden party attire wedding on September 5th? Feedback is very much appreciated!!!

I'm pretty sure that I've seen you wear something that would be appropriate for this wedding. And yes, when I saw Garden Party this is the type of image in my head. I'm pretty sure the dress you wore for your Dad's bday party fits the bill.
Sept 5, bring a sweater (just in case) but feel free to leave it in your car if it is really warm out.
I was just thinking about the dress you wore at your Dad's party....but garden party attire to me is a kneeish length dress, and probably khakis and a button down shirt for Canada Travis....I would say no jacket because of the "casual" on the invite....
