Folks, I have returned from Canada, which I will refer to as Land of the Poutine. Do you guys know about the Pountine? No? Well, let me show you...
Pountine: fries topped with brown gravy. This is huge in Canada. HUGE!
Blogger World, I'm happy to report back that I had a good time in Canada. I'm going to be honest, I really thought this trip was going to blow. I'm talking, worst trip ever!!! EVER.
You see, I went to visit my friend Travis. We will call him Canada Travis from here on out. I know, not one of my best nicknames. Canada Travis and I met many, many, many years ago at Camp Lu-Jo KISMIF. We were young high school students who got along great. But as we all know, most everyone changes from high school. Hence why I thought the trip would be a complete failure. I mean, what if Canada Travis turned into a freak show? What if I've become a freak show? Thankfully, neither one of us turned into a freak show. Come to find out, we're both pretty normal and still get along pretty well.
Here are some of the highlights from the trip:
Boston Pizza- I found this funny. Boston is not famous for it's pizza. And apparently, no one at Boston Pizza cared to research American Pizza toppings, because shrimp is not a normal pizza topping.
Calgary (downtown)- Some of the best Christmas lights.
West Edmonton Mall-This mall has EVERYTHING. If you want to visit a water park and then go ice skating...this is the place for you. You know my favorite part of the mall? H&M. Oh and the random pirate ship.
Sylvan Lake-Canada Travis's home. He lives on a lake. I felt the best way to see his town was to walk. He was less than thrilled to walk his town for 3 hours, but he was a good sport.
Snow- I conquered my fear of driving in the snow. I drove three times while in Canada, and it snowed every time. It was the weirdest thing.
Well there you have it, the highlights of Canada. Now, I have a stamp in my passport and another country to check off my list.

You are so brave to go there this time of year! Always neat when something exceeds your expectations!
It was warmer in Canada than OKC. Not by much, but it was warmer. HA!
I miss living up North sometimes. LOL I prefer my pountine that way also, fries n brown gravey... actually the traditional has cheese curds on it to... *bleck*. It is such a "dryer cold" up there... makes winter and so so much more injoyable!
I'm so glad it went well, I'm going to text you later, coming in on Saturday for a week so maybe we can hang out before Jeremy comes on the 21st or 22nd!
sounds like you had a great time...I would go for the pountine alone. ;o) But I can get that in the south as well. (my daughter STILL doesn't get why I like gravy so much...weird kid!)
I hope you didn't have to pay too much to get all your goodies home.
So is Canada Travis just a "friend" or is he a "FRIEND"??
He's just a "friend". I think that's the right friend. We are just friends, but not the type of "just friends" like the movie with Justin Timberlake.
I took my driver's test with 2 inches of new snow on the ground
