Craft Time

This weekend was a rainy/stormy weekend. In an effort to entertain ourselves, Canada Travis and I had craft time. We decided to make candles. No really, we did...

I thought this craft would be a flop. There's no way melted wax and string are all that's involved.

I was wrong! The craft was not a flop and it only required two ingredients. Here's proof that we had a successful craft.
This candle burned for 6-7 hours! We were so impressed with ourselves!!!
We made about twenty candles; which will be kept in Canada Travis storm shelter.

Racecar Woman

As you know, I spend many spring and summer weekends at the racetrack.
This year is no different.  However, something new has been added to our racing weekend. I've taken on the responsibility of providing dinner for the racing team; which is 3-4 people.

Saturday, was my first meal. I selected PW's Beef and Cheddar sandwich.
I'm happy to report the sandwiches were a hit with the race team! Not only were they tasty, it was mess free. The full meal was Hot Beef and Cheddar sandwiches, chips, and brownies. Everything was delicious! Here's a picture of my sandwiches...

I have to be honest, cooking for the race team has taken racing to another level for me. I love it! I feel like Pioneer Woman providing food for her cowboys. Personally, I think there's potential for a cooking show here. Who wouldn't want to watch me destroy a kitchen cooking food for racecar drivers????

If anyone has suggestions for racing food please let me know. I'm all ears!

New Friends

Do you remember my mission of making work friends? Well, I have excellent news! I have succeeded in making work friends. Here's a snapshot of my new friends....

Five baby geese visit me each morning. We've become the best of friends!!! It will be a sad day when they leave me for a new pond.

We survived

My uncle and I completed the half marathon on Sunday.

My uncle completed the half in 2:08. He's a fast guy! I couldn't be more proud of my uncle. He did great!!!

I did a pretty decent job. I ran it in 2:29. I'm ok with that time, considering I was hurt the past 3 1/2 weeks.
Clearly this picture was taken early during the race; like mile two!

A huge thank you to my cheerleaders!!! The four of them cheered us on at four different locations.
I have the best cheerleaders in OKC!!

Another shoutout to MrT and Brent. I ran with them the last four miles. We took a running selfie at mile 12.5. We were so excited to be done!!

The 10th half marathon is in the books! It was a great time. Boy, I am sore today! My legs have been screaming all day, but I survived another race.

And this makes 10

Sunday, I'm running my 10th half marathon. This year my uncle will be joining me on the 13 mile jog. I'm very excited for him to experience his first half marathon! Words can't describe the awesomeness of running the OK Memorial Marathon! The starting line, route, crowds, water stops, fellow runners, volunteers, and the homemade signs. Everything makes this race great!!!!
As normal, please send prayers and good thoughts to all us runners!!!

Mission New Friends

I'm on a new mission; a mission to make my new coworkers like me. It's not that my new coworkers currently don't like me. I'm just....not part of the group. I'm still the new kid.  I'm tired of feeling like an outsider. I want to be in on the inside jokes!

Anyway, today was day #1 of getting my coworkers to like me. I decided food would be a good start. I mean, who doesn't like food?
My favorite morning friends helped me with the food.

I think my new coworkers were pleasantly surprised with the morning treat! I hope I scored some points with my new coworkers.

Here's to new friends!!!!

Easter Picture Fail

Normally, The Sisters and I take good pictures. However, there are times we cannot take a good picture.

Easter picture fail!
