No more Barefoot Contessa

Sister #1 and I have always joked about Barefoot Contessa.
We joke she is secretly a mean lady, despite how she acts on her show. I imagined she was the type of lady that little kids are afraid to be around, which makes the episodes she cocoks with kids very funny. On these episodes it looks she is about to fly off the roof if one of the kids moves, tries to help her cook, or misprounces a french ingredient.

I say all this because Sister #1 and I were right about old Barefoot. She really is a mean lady. Friday, I read an article that Barefoot Contessa declined cooking with a six-year old Make-A-Wish cancer patient. Enzo, the little boy, has asked her to cook with him two times. She said no two different times. How heartless do you have to be to decline a poor boy his wish? I don't have to tell you that my cooking hero, Paula, wouldn't have said no. I bet she'd cook with him, put the little boy on her show, along his whole famly, and then invite them all to Thanksgiving! Barefoot Contessa has quite the PR nightmare on her hands. I hope that she makes this right to Enzo and his family! Until then, I will not buy her products, watch her show, or look at her cookbooks. Not that I did any of those things before, but this time I'm blogging about it so all of Blogger World knows how I feel!

I haven't ever gotten that warm fuzzy feeling from her myself...so I don't watch her either. I'm sorry to hear about the make a wish boy but who really knows the details of those stories.

I agree. I have a feeling the little boy will be taken care of by The Food Network.

I don't get the Foodnetwork channel anymore, so I can't watch her show...but every time that I did watch her show I felt like asking "who is this show for? Nobody in their right mind is going to cook like this!"

I'm sorry to hear this about her.

Bill never has liked her. I don't know why, I've never asked.
