"Find a venue, overorder on the drinks, bulk buy the guacamole"

Doesn’t it seem kind of early for Christmas parties? Yes? Well, apparently not. Today is my office’s Christmas party. Woo Hoo! I can’t think of anything more I'd love to do, than spend quality off the clock time with my coworkers.

Ok, I really can’t complain about this year’s party. See, my party starts mid-day, which means I didn’t have to find a date. As a Dating Dummy this news is very exciting. No stress over finding the perfect social date. No stress over the perfect cocktail dress. No stress over entertaining the perfect social date during the party. Essentially, I have had a stress free pre-party time. It’s been magnificent! For all you single people out in Blogger World, I leave you with this mature phrase….

Nana-nana-boo-boo I didn’t have to find a Christmas party date and youuuu do!

That was just mean.

I'm gonna go sulk now.

Not that I ever try to find a date for my office parties (I would never hear the end of it if I showed up with a date), but we're also doing a lunch instead of a night time party this year. I actually don't mind going this year.

DH's office party is in their conference room, in the evening, children invited...but they're going to be sent to another room to watch a movie.

sounds like a winner to me! I haven't ever gone to one of his Christmas Parties here. He says they're all really lame. I think that's a requirement for office parties though.

And I agree with Stacey that it's good to not bring a date to the office party. Course you want to make sure you don't drink so you don't end up with the guy from the mailroom or worse. It's more fun to watch your co-workers act silly.

Have a great party! I'm off to console TC. ;-)

Oh but you have to deal with the advances of older, drunker male colleagues.... or is that just me at Christmas parties?

Ew.

I don't have any to go to this year and it feels a bit strange... though I'm sure it will be great for my waistline!

Our office stopped having a Christmas party a few years ago. At first, I was upset and yelled "What kind of (redacted adjective) cheap place is this?"

But then I realized it meant I didn't have to worry about finding a date or going alone, so it's all good.

TC- Don't be mad. It was I who suggested to the boss that we should have a mid-day party. You might suggest it to your boss?

Girls Journey- I don't have older guys hitting on me at the office party. It's because they are all friends with my dad, and they've known me since I was little.
