Bite Me Facebook

Really? Does Facebook need to a broken heart for Single Relationship Status? Actually, I can't tell if it's a broken heart or a dead heart. Either way, not good.

hahaha

Would you like me to remind you of my love/hate relationship with Facebook? There's an entire post dedicated to it :)

But yeah, my best guy friend from grade school/high school (we were neighbors for 11 years and my family considered him their adopted son) just broke up with his girlfriend of a year and a half this weekend and the stupid broken heart thing on Facebook made me cringe. I felt really bad for him when I saw it.

Stupid Facebook.

I totally agree with you. I think single needs to have a heart with a smiley face on it. Not a broken heart!!! Just because we are single doens't mean we are broken hearted!! Facebook, you SUCK!!

why does Facebook need to know your relationship status in the first place? (sorry, I'm not on Facebook...so no clue as to what's going on there.)

Personally, it sounds like this Sara chick is wack!

I am glad I have never had a broken heart on FB. But, that's probably because I haven't been on there very long.

TC- I remember your post and I feel the same way.

Mona-I agree!

Renee- Facebook doesn't really care what about your relationship status. You have the option to post that information for other Facebookers. I guess so people out in Facebook World can hit on you...via Facebook? I don't really know.

Bone- Good thing I'm not the Sara Chick. By the way, how were the recipes I sent you?

Scotty- Congrats for no broken heart!

Okay people I am going to let you in on a secret (because I too hate the broken heart - hence why I have never had any relationship status on FB).

If you are ever changing anything that brings up the dreaded broken heart (e.g. you have broken up with So-and-so but don't want it broadcast to all 200 of your FB friends) then there's this little X to the right that allows you to delete the story thus removing it from everyone's news feeds.

Because what you really want after a break up is someone you haven't seen in ten years but who you stupidly accepted as a friend because you were too nice to say no writing on your Wall asking for the juicy details...

Mr. T left directions for how to shut the feed off for me on my post if you want it... of course, that only shuts YOUR feed off, not your friends.

Oh and if you're sending out recipes to anyone, I'll take some :)

Lindsy,

I recently had the experience of facebook announcing my breakup... I had my feed turned off, unfortunately he didn't so I had hundreds of people contact me to tell me how sorry they were and that they had found out on facebook. I've never been more humiliated in my life.

Also I agree with the heart with a smiley face... it definitely wasn't sad for me. :)
