Eat What You Want Day

Today, May 11th, is Eat What You Want Day. What do you want to eat today? Is it a cookie, scoop of ice cream, or a salad? Whatever you want to eat, I hope you make it happen today.

As for me, I'd take one of these:

Running

Last night, I went for a run. It wasn't far. It wasn't fast. It really wasn't a run. A trot would be a better description.

I didn't mind the short distance or slow pace. I was just happy to be running/trotting. I've missed running, and I think it's missed me. Lord knows my legs and butt have missed running!!!

I've signed up for a 5k in June. I'm sure I'll walk more than run, but who cares! It's all about showing up, and doing your thing. Running does not judge.

Thunder, Races, Furry Friends, & Mom

Happy Monday to you! Are you as tired as me? Probably. Ok good.

This weekend was a busy one, but I took pictures along the way.

Friday
We Thunder Up'd, but it didn't help because they lost.

Saturday
Canada Travis raced, I read magazines.

Sunday
We celebrated my mom! Look at her new chairs. Do not look at the stuff stacked in the background. She keeps telling us she's going to reorganize the whole house once she retires.

Sunday Night
I babysat Sister # 1's Furry Friends. We tried to take a selfie. Instead, they gave me lots of kisses.

It was a fun weekend!

Teacher Appreciation Day

Today is Teacher Appreciation Day. Did you know? I knew this week was Teacher Appreciate Week, but was unaware an actual day was dedicated to teachers.

I'd like to give a big Teacher Appreciation Day shoutout to my mom!!! She's been a kindergarten teacher forever. No, for real. She's taught Kindergarten longer than I've been alive. I'm sure she loves I'm announcing this to you, but she doesn't read my blog so it's cool. Anyway....

My mom, along with all kindergarten teachers, work extremely hard to get their students ready for 1st grade. I don't know if you realize this, but kindergarten is tough. It's not all about coloring in the lines and singing your ABCs. Now days, kindergarteners are reading books by Christmas and writing small paragraphs by Spring Break. And there's no nap time; because who has time for a nap when these five and six year olds have to know so much before 1st grade!!!

So Blogger Friends, if you know a teacher give them a big pat on the back. It's the least we can do. Happy Teacher Appreciation Day Mom!

The year I was a cheerleader

This past weekend was the OK Memorial Marathon. It's one of my favorite races. I love seeing the sea of runners. Every year it gives me goosebumps.

This year, I did not participate in the race. However, I did get up early to cheer on my dad and uncle. Both ran the half marathon.

It was a successful race! My uncle was happy with his time, and my dad was happy he didn't end up in the medical tent.

I must say, being a cheerleader was very fun! Sure, I missed running but sometimes life happens and you have to adapt. It was a fun morning!!! I'm happy my family enjoys getting up at 4:45am to cheer on crazy runners. It makes life a little more fun.

#badass

Yesterday, I had my post chemo check up. I'm happy to report, I've been given the all clear sign. We've finally reached the finish line, and it feels GREAT!!! In honor of the news, my dad and I celebrated with the only way my family knows how to celebrate. Food!!!

One last sweet treat from the Stephenson Cancer Center, because that's how we roll!

Blogger World, thank you for all the prayers/good thoughts/messages sent my way. I appreciate every one of them.

# 100

Over one year ago, I set out to try 100 new recipes. The only rule was I had to follow the recipe exact. To make sure I didn't lose count, I kept a running list on my phone. Well Saturday morning, I finally reached 100!!!

A hundred new recipes is a lot, and I'm happy to say most were delicious. In true blogger fashion I documented my favorite. Here are a few of my faves...
