Summer Time

Summer is the perfect time to eat strawberries. If you are like me, you'll eat strawberries with anything. I've been known to put it in my oatmeal and yogurt. The Sisters enjoy strawberries with cake. It could be pound cake, angel food cake, or a box cake mix. The Sisters are smart! 

Last night I decided to copy The Sisters.
 But I took it a step further. I drizzled this awesomeness on top. 
I discovered this in Maine. It's delicious by itself, but it's fantastic with strawberries and pound cake. It was hard to stop eating the delicious treat; VERY hard!!! Trust me!

that looks very sinful! The last time we had strawberries I decided that I wanted the shortbread recipe on my boxed biscuit mix...but then I saw how much work they were... I'm lazy. So instead I just mixed the biscuit mix with some sugar (instead of salt) and milk. stirred and made "drop" biscuits. They were perfect with the strawberries...didn't even miss the whipped cream!

Now I want a biscuit! good thing I've set the self cleaner on the oven today (it's freezing outside!)

I know, right? When we were in Italy several years ago, we had a similar dessert drizzled with balsamic vinegar at a cooking class. So good! People didn't believe us when we told them...

we didn't have strawberries in the house, but we made the biscuits last night anyway because it is cold and we wanted a warm sweet.
