Changes

It appears I've been watching too much HGTV Fixer Upper. This weekend, I was all about making small changes to my home decor. It was nothing crazy, just a few new pictures.

For the past 13 years, my kitchen has been decorated with chef decor. It's cute, but I'm tired of looking at chefs. Therefore, I decided to make a couple changes.
A new clock:

Cute letters:

I think the change is a breath of fresh air!

I also purchased a new picture for the living room.
I love this picture, and I love it 50% off at Hobby Lobby. Double win!!

These small changes will have to do until Chip and Joanna Gaines can get to my house. Ha!

Chemo Dropout

Last time we spoke, I'd just completed my first round of chemo and things were good. I'm afraid the good feeling was short lived. A few hours after I posted Spa Day, things quickly went down.

Thursday night/Friday morning, I was declaring myself a Chemo Dropout. I was shivering, my body ached, and I felt a bit dizzy.  After a second dose of one of my medications, I decided it was time to move on to another medication. While going to get water and medicine I passed out. I hit the back of my head on the tile floor in my kitchen. Once I came to, I crawled back to my room to call Sister #1.
She immediately answered her phone and rushed over to my house. God bless Sister #1!
Not only did Sister #1 give me the medicine I was after, she also took me to the ER.

My four hour ER visit was full of crazy fun! Don't be jealous.
I mean, who doesn't consider getting 1 staple fun? You guys can thank Sister #1 for this pic. Even in my terrible pain, I still had enough sense to know my Blogger Friends would want to see the staple. In addition to the staple, the doctor gave me an IV and Potassium pills.

The following days have been a challenge, but nothing like the first night. I've had bone and joint pain; which is getting better each day. Folks don't worry, things are starting to look up. However, I feel like we started from the bottom!!!!

In other news, Tiny Tank is coming to see me soon. How cute is this little guy?

Spa Day

Today, was my first Spa Day. Spa Day is my code word for Chemo. I felt like Spa Day was a more fitting word.

Blogger World, I have a surprise for you. I documented with pictures my first Spa Day. Mostly, because it helps me to talk/type it out. I can't think of a better group of listeners than you. Therefore, I give you OK Chick's First Spa Day! Enjoy.

My day started out like all days...
Even though I have cancer, it doesn't mean I cannot enjoy my favorite morning beverage. Sister #1 was kind enough to buy me a drink. My sisters are pretty great! I need to mention that more often.

Typically, I pack very light. Seriously, I'm a great packer. One time, I went to China for seven days with one bag. True Story. However...
you tell me we are having a Spa Day, and I pack everything under the sun. Geez! Now understand, this is a picture of my mom and I's bags. So not all of these bags are mine; just three are mine.

Awww...look how happy I am to be at Spa Day. Cute.
This picture was taken three minutes after we started. Of course, I was smiling. The only drugs they've pumped in me was Benadryl. Before we started on the hard stuff, my awesome/sweet/funny/patient nurse pumped me full of Benadryl. I very much appreciated the Benadryl.

Blogger World, if you know one thing about me it's I love food! I love good food!!!
I'm about to tell you a secret. The Stephenson Cancer Center has great food. Above is the picture of my lunch. It was very tasty, probably my favorite part of my day. FOR REAL!

Work is a great way to keep my mind from wandering in scary circles.
I updated spreadsheets and graphs like a mad woman! I'm lucky to work for a company that has allowed me to work from Spa Days, home, and hospitals. It's great!

Sadly, we've come to the end of today's Spa Day. Please do not be sad, I have two more Spa Days. There will be more pictures.

Blogger World, thank you for being such a great listener. You guys are the best!

The 7 holes are healed

Wednesday, I had my post-surgery checkup. My oncologist said everything looked good. All seven of my incisions have healed, and my insides are working properly. Hooray!

The best part of my appointment is when my doctor said I could start working out again. Woohoo! I'm sure this is no surprise to you, but I had the Jazzercise App open scanning class schedules  before we left the doctor's office. My parents did not share my excitement. However, they know their daughter. Once the doctor gave me the ok, there was no stopping me.

Now, this where I'm going to put my disclaimer. This isn't my first rodeo. I know I'm weak/out of share/tired. Don't worry, I will start out slow. Yesterday, I walked 1.5 mile. I'll continue walking until next week. But Monday evening, I'm going to Jazzercise!!!! There's no stopping me!

I'm on the move

Saturday, I was on the move! I felt great, and wanted to take advantage of the new found energy. Therefore, The Sisters and I did what we do best! Shopping!

It was nice to do something besides work and watch TV. I'm hoping for more days like Saturday.

I stand corrected

Last post, I mentioned having a weekend alone. I was wrong. Canada Travis and Furry Friends came to see me. Canada Travis informed me he couldn't work on the car, because the car is still being built in Arkansas. Sadly, this is information I've been told multiple times. Girlfriend fail!

Anyway, the weekend turned out very different than I'd originally planned. I did not get a pedicure. Also, I did not take a walk or roam the aisles of Target.
Instead, we watched all three Godfather movies.

Moral of the story...listen before planning your weekend.
