Racecar Woman

I'm It's been a busy couple of weeks. The craziness has prevented me from posting my past two meals from the racetrack. To get us all caught up, here's a quick recap from the past two weeks.

Aug 15th- Frito Chili Pie, Pig-n-Blankets, and Brownies.

None of the recipes were overly difficult, but all were tasty!

Aug 22- Italian Beef Sandwiches, Texas Caviar, and Red Velvet Cookie Bars.

No, those are not my pics. I was unable to get a picture of dinner. It was a busy night at the racetrack. Mostly due to this...

The car was fixed by his final race, but not put back together. He went on the track without part of the car's body.
This picture was taken right before he left for the track. In fact, he's sitting in the car while this was happening.

There's always something at the racetrack!

Shout-out

This post is dedicated to my little cousin.

His little league team is in the Little League World Series! How cool is that for these kids? He's twelve years old and he can say he's been on ESPN. Not ESPN8, but the real deal!

Their first game is today at 7pm, against Mid-Atlantic. Everyone send good thoughts to these twelve year olds!!! Go Midwest!!!

It's a shoe miracle

A few weeks ago, I wrote about my beloved Chacos going to Shoe Heaven.
After much consideration, I decided I was not ready for my Chacos to enter Shoe Heaven. Therefore, I sent them off to the Chaco Doctors.

I'm happy to report everything went well. My shoes are fixed!!!

Thank you Chaco Doctors!

Racecar Woman

As promised, here's a recap of Saturday's meal.

Let's start with the main feature of the evening; baked beans. The baked beans were everyone's favorite dish of the evening. The secret ingredient was Red Hot Lover Red Pepper Jam.

Have you had this stuff? It's fantastic, and it's made in Oklahoma. The Prairie Gypsy's, creators of this delicious jam, have a Red Hot Lover Baked Bean recipe that is beyond words. Jump over to The Prairie Gypsy's website for this recipe. You won't be disappointed.

The costar dishes of the evening were brisket and pasta salad. Saturday's brisket was my first to make. I think it turned out well. I mean, no one ended up sick or hungry. I call that a win!

I need to work on my food photos. Next week they'll be better. Anyway, I think the food was a hit. The pit crew was nothing but complementary; which is a good feeling.

Here's a picture of the whole spread.

I only have two more weeks to be Racecar Woman. I'm looking for suggestions, because I'm running out of ideas. Please give me your ideas!!! The only rule...no chicken. It's some bad luck thing. I don't really get it.

Weekend Update

Holy cow, it was a busy weekend jammed packed with exciting activities.

The weekend started early for me. Friday, Sister #1, my dad, and I attended a gun class. It was a hot day for a gun class, but we all survived. Thankfully, we shot midmorning so we weren't outside when it was 104.

After the gun class it was off to watch Canada Travis race. This weekend was a doubleheader of racing.

I was lucky to have awesome seat partners at both races. How could you not have fun with these two?

Saturday was more racing. The racing was partnered with excellent food. I'll be sharing my meal in a few days.

After a gun class and two races I was worn out! We sent most of Sunday watching movies, and playing with Postcard Puppies.

As you can see, they were exhausted as well.

I hope you had a good weekend too!

Why can't we be friends?

Ever since Postcard Puppies arrived on the scene, Canada Travis's shop cats have not been happy. Stagger, the head cat, does not like these adorable puppies.

How could you hate these cuties? However yesterday, progress was made in The Great Pet Friendship of 2015.

Here we see Wedge the cat standing near Daryl. Normally, Wedge runs away when any living creature comes near him.

Typically, Stagger wants nothing to do with Postcard Puppies. He avoids them at all cost.

I feel like we are moving in the right direction. Who knows, maybe by Christmas everyone will be friends?
