Today I received this mass email from the Singles Minister at church…..
Class,
…. is co-hosting with us a cookout and devotional at the Park on Sunday. I have just received a call from a single from (another church in town) who is about your age wondering what age singles would be attending. Please come out that Sunday evening. I think there will be a good group your age attending.
Ok, I don’t blame the minister for this email because he seems like a nice guy. And I'm aware that he is trying to get people to attend the cook-out, but really? REALLY? He wants my singles class to attend a cookout because there might be a good group your age attending. See, this is why I take Single Trips! Right here is a good example of the dumb things people say to singles. When I read the email I laughed to myself, and immediately emailed my friend Suzy... to make fun of the email. WELLL, funny thing is I didn’t hit forward, I hit the reply. My lovely Singles Minister received my email poking fun of his email. Now, normally I would feel bad for this whole thing. You know, making fun of someone to their face. However on this occasion I don’t.
Here's my resply that I thought went to my friend Suzy....
Did you get this email? If so, what does he mean by....single from (another town) who is about your age. I'm sorry but this sentence made me laugh out loud!

LOL!!!
I hit the reply
Yes!
I wonder if he'll reply...
Holy Crap Lindsy! That's freakin' hilarious! Kudos to you for "accidently" hitting reply :). hahaha, made my night! I kinda want to know what you said! Ok, not kinda...DO want to know!
I can't stop laughing at this. Seriously though, I could write a book containing all the stupid things people say to me regarding me being single. My favorite is the question "why aren't you married?" I always just want to say "umm I guess because no one loves me?" I mean how are you supposed to answer that question...
Yes, please post your reply :)
That is awesome. Really this why I struggle making it to church. I was going to a Baptist church, and they treat you like you are a second class citizen if you are single. Everything is based around married people with kids.
I did the reply thing when the VP said he couldn't make it to the company Christmas party. He said that his daughter was getting marred that weekend instead of married. I hit reply instead of forward and I said.
MARRED!
Hopefully his secretary got it instead of him.
That is so funny!
Oh Lindsy, this is classic!
ha ha ha, though you could have been much nastier (I would have been probably).
Singles ministry... part of that makes me want to cringe totally, part of it wishes it existed in NZ.
Did you get a response from that poor minister?
well you know that the ONLY reason that folks attend a singles ministry is to find a mate so they can stop attending...right?!?!? LOL!
Sorry you have to deal with that and I'm now sorry for my little note on FB...I'm just kidding you know. :D
So, reading this... I finally understand why some people said the old woman was nice in my last post.
Don't hate me, but I don't think there was much wrong with his email. It sounds like he's trying to help all the singles in his church mix and mingle with other like-minded people. Sounds kinda fun actually.
And hey, if you happen to meet a guy and wanna get married in his church, well that's ok too :)
TC- I would never hate you. I didn't think it was a mean email, just really funny. He could have worded it better?
