Public Service Announcement

Today's post is a warning. It's a warning to everyone who does not believe sunscreen is important.

This is my dad:
Do you see how he's lacking in hair? It's ok, you can agree with me. Blogger World, when you are lacking in hair and enjoy playing golf in the summer; you need to wear a hat or sunscreen.

For many years, my dad did neither. Therefore, this had to happen.
The dr had to remove cancer spots from his head.

Don't worry, he's doing well. A couple hours after his procedure he was back to work on his phone.
The lesson we have all learned from this...wear sunscreen and/or a hat!!!!

Attitude Adjustment

Blogger World, for the past couple of weeks my attitude has sucked. I apologize for the language, but I cannot think of another word to describe my attitude.

Transitioning to a new job has been a bigger adjustment than I anticipated. Hey, I know what you are thinking. You are thinking...that's life, get over yourself and he happy you have a job! I know this because that's what I thought when people complained about their new job. I would roll my eyes and think the person was a wimp. Isn't it funny how life can teach you lessons?

Last night, I reached a new low. While on the phone with my mom, I caught myself complaining about work. I was complaining to her that my office was hot. To be fair, it was 80 degrees in my office! If you live in OK you know yesterday was a beautiful day, with temperatures in the 80s. ANYWAY...I was complaining to my mom about the temperature of my office. I was complaining to the lady who has spent her whole life teaching in the public schools. A lady who, for the past five years, has had to buy copy paper for her students. A lady who's heat or AC does not work 75% of the time. A lady who hasn't had a pay raise since 1982!!

Needless to say, I was ashamed of myself. I'm such a wimp! Things get hard and I fold like a cheap deck of cards. I'm better than this; which is what spurred the attitude change.

Today is a new day!  My attitude has got to change! If I don't like things at work, than I need to figure out a solution. This is a good time to use the things I learned in my Master's classes, and the skills I've taken away from my old job. I need to utilize all the knowledge floating around in my head; and not the worthless Hollywood knowledge. Basically, I need to stop complaining, and figure out some ways to make work life better! It's up to me, not my boss, or new company.

Today is the day! Blogger World, here is to a new day and a new attitude!

Holiday Jam

I feel it's my duty to inform you when I come across something awesome. I understand you might not think it's awesome, but at least you are aware. You know, incase you need to buy me a present. I kid!

Last month, Sister #1 bought me this jam:

Blogger World, this jam is awesome! I've never tasted a better jam.  Everyone out there needs to try Stonewall Kitchen's Holiday Jam. You will not be sad. If you are sad, just ship it to me!

Insta-lately

Every once in awhile I pretend this blog is an Instagram account. Today, is one of those days. Enjoy the pictures...

Who doesn't love dip-n-dops?

He said my sweater looked like something a librarian would wear.

New running shoes!!!!

This year's race bids are going to be used for this craft.

Sometimes cars crash at the Chili Bowl.

Completely normal!

See why I don't have an Instagram account? It would be lame!

Wednesday Night Fun

Wednesday night is quickly becoming one of my favorite nights of the week.

A few weeks ago, Sister #2 and I volunteered to work in the children's ministry at church. I've done this numerous times, but it was the first time for Sister #2. I'm happy to report, Sister #2 and I are loving our time with the 5th graders we lead. They are so full of life and energy!!

Last night was an especially fun class. Why was it fun you ask? We got to eat!!!

Tasty treats that tied into the story of Esther.

I'd like to give a big shoutout to the lovely ladies that organize the children's ministry at my church. You guys are doing a great job!!!

Weekend Update

It was a busy weekend. Lucky for you, I documented it with some pictures. I hope you enjoy the pics and here's to another Monday!

Chili Bowl
An exciting indoor car race. Folks, car racing season is getting close. I still can't decide if that's good or bad.

January 5K
Look how fast we run! It was a nice morning for the first run of 2015. Although I was pretty tired, we finished like rock stars!

Bedlam
OU vs OSU men's basketball. Sister #2 and I went to Norman for the game. It was our first time to attend a bedlam game. However, the fun started before the game with this sighting:
You are viewing the vehicle of a major OU fan! Sister #2 and I are not that big of fans, but we had a great time.

Well, there's my weekend. It included a bit of everything!

Help

I've been at my new job for over two months. For the most part, I've started to figure things out. But there's still one thing I cannot figure out.
My office telephone. I don't know if you can see in the picture, but I have a missed call. Folks, I have no idea how to see who called me. This phone keeps a long of received and missed calls. Also, I cannot figure out how to check voicemail. Thankfully, I've only missed a handful of calls since arriving here.  I'm assuming, since I'm still employed, the calls weren't too important. However, I don't know that for sure! I could have missed out on something great or important!!!

Friends, if you have this phone would you leave me instructions in the comments section? Please! The phone is a Cisco IP Phone 7941 Series.

And that's a wrap...

This past weekend my family and I celebrated our final Christmas for 2014. The celebration required another fast trip to Arkansas. It was fun celebrating Christmas with family, and catching up with everyone. Here's a few pictures from all the fun.

I suppose now that Christmas is officially over I should take down the decorations.
